  • What pressure should the FPSS be set at?

    Jsut flipping through SUmmit, saw a generic Summit brand FPSS, I beleive it was set to cutput if the fuel drops below 7psi but I will look again.

    Either way it was cheaper then the NOS one. Just exploring the alternatives.

    An idel one would cut out at high 30's to low 40's. The only thing that the 7 psi one would protect from is if the revv limiter cut fuel.
    You you drop much below what it is set at you will lean most likely.

      they are adjustable anywhere from 30 - 70psi ..i believe mine is set to cut off if it drops below 35 psi [img]smile.gif[/img]

        The 7 psi FPSS is for carberuters (sp?) only.

          Carbs will only use 4.5 to 5 psi.

              No, not all of them. Single digit settings would be for carbs. There is no way that you would have the cutout set that low for a fuel injection setup. Losing half of your fuel pressure would be catastrophic so what good would a cutoff at 7 psi be?

                EFI system's run a much higher fuel psi.
                Carb is lower.

                The fuel cut off switches for under 10 psi are card applications... not EFI.

                  7 psi switch would not do any good for EFI, I say if you have a 7 psi it might keep you from blowing your engine.
                  You might get lucky and burn some pistons if it cuts off.

                    If the fuel pressure gets that low w/ FI and spray, you are done.

                      Hell... if an EFI system only had 7 psi of fuel... jeez.... I wonder how it would run without nitrous?!!?!?
