There is a wire coming from the PCM that is the tach signal. I will look it up when I get home and let you know which side of the PCM it comes from, the pin number, and the color. However, when I hooked up an MSD window switch to it, there was a large drop in voltage and the window switch would not work. I called MSD and they confirmed that in the 2001 V6, this is a known problem (do not know if it will effect 1998). What they recomended (and what I did), was buy a divice that sits under one of the coils and has two wires coming off of it. This is where you can get a sigal off the ground from the coil. You set your window switch to act like a 2 cylinder engine and it works great. The good part is you do not have to cut into any PCM wires.

If you want a window switch, I have the MSD one I was using. The pills I have are from 3000-3800 rpms and 5100-5900 rpms. I got a used Harland switch cheap so insteed of buying more pills, I just used that (I shoot NO to 6300 rpms now). If the range you want to shoot nitrous is within the pills I have, all you would need is the device that fits under the coil. I think it was $25. I will get you a part number if you want. The window switch was modified to work with the 2 cylinder setup. Let me know if you are interested.

look in the wire diagragm on the tech section, it'll tell you what pin the tach wire is.

This is the piece you need. It is called a Coil Interface Module.

            http://store.summitracing.com/defaul....asp&x=20&y=14

Here is the window switch I have.

            http://store.summitracing.com/defaul....asp&x=20&y=14

And I have the following pills

            3000
            3200
            3400
            3600
            3800
            5100
            5300
            5500
            5700
            5900

I hade the window switch modified by MSD to work with our 2 cylinder coils. That cost another $25. I will let all the pills and the switch go for $40 plus shipping. It is a good system and very easy to install. Let me know.
