• Nitrous on a 3.4

Just wondering, how do 3.4s respond to nitrous? How big of a shot can they handle? What size would it be safe to run, with not many other major modifications? And are they any kits for a 3.4 liter availiable?

just like any other car if you run it properly..likr vanbibber said..id run a 75 shot..as far as the kit..start with NOS kit# 5175..other modifications..NGK TR6 plugs gapped at .035..upgraded pump..just an electric inline one would be fine if you're just going to run a 75 shot..nothing crazy..and due to the added torque..you may want to get a set of lower control arms, and a poly transmission mount..kit 5175 comes with safety feater like a wide open throttle switch and fuel pressure safety switch..but you need a pressure gauge..and you'll also want a bottle warmer..check out the links in the sticky at the top of this section..LOTS of info availavle there

50-75 shot and no more until some other bigger mods are done to your engine and such

Yes, what they said. It doesn't take a lot to make the head gaskets disappear.

^ and still..there are NO definites with nitrous..so be prepared for it to disappear if you are willing to take the risk of running juice..just make sure you read up and take ALL precautions and you should be fine

I torn down the engine and the pistons were fine. I went through 4 sets of head gaskets (three with the ARP studs).

Would even a 50 shot hurt your pistons?

Not sure what it takes or what will break first but I know the pistons are one of the major weak points on a 60* v6.

Hey jerriko where all the head gaskets you killed stock like?
It all goes back to the 4 head bolts around each cylinder.

Any amount could possibly hurt the pistons.......

Safety and a good running engine is the key!

When I say good runing engine... one that is maintained VERY well (reg tune ups etc)

We have a list of safety bits... look into them and get back to us.

NOS kit 5175... 50 shot.... for starters

Of course they were, I could find any companies that would make me some 'good' ones. But I guess I don't have to worry about that now. ;)

Hey guys, I was also wondering about a little shot on my car to help out with the 3.4's horrible top end. I just want a small shot, so would I need a bigger pump with just a 40-50 shot? My mods are in my sig. Also, I am hoping that my cam will not interfer. It is not radical or anything, and it does not have the cam sensor on it, so it is batch-firing. So I dont think I will have a problem with running lean, when I spray. ;) Also, whats with the 3.4 pistons? I understand they are cast aluminum right? Hmm, TIS for advice.
