Hey I was talkin to a few of my friends in my local F-Body club and everyone seems to have a completely different opinion on Nitrous. Some say its a great bang for your buck mod, others say screw that you will blow up your engine. If any of you who actually have nitrous coudl comment on this I would really appreciate it. Also, how much does it cost total, after everything, to have it put in. I just put my exhaust on and it cost 400, but install labor killed me. Thanks

I bought my kit for 500 bucks and installed it myself, pretty easy to install and yes it is a GREAT bang for the buck. Nothing can beat a simple push of the button for 100 extra ponies can it cost wise?

I bought my kit back in 2002 used from my roomate for 350.00.. It cam off his 01 Mustang GT.. He bought it used back in 2001 off another mustang guy.. So the kit is almost 6 years old.. Havent had any problems with any of the hardware such as silinoids or nozzle... I had my Nitrous installed in Feb 03.. started out with a 50 shot and moved all the way up to a 125 shot.. sprayed my stock motor from Feb03-Nov04.. I put 65 bottles through the stock motor and about 40,000 miles also.. I changed my plugs, fuel filter, and oil every 2 months just for safty.. I had the 125 shot on the car from March04-November04.. Used stock tune ( a/f and timing).. So 30.00 a bottle Times 65 is 1950 plus the 350 for the kit is 2300.00.. Its all about what you want.. I didnt want the bad gass miles from a charger and I dont want the power there all the time.. I just want it there when I need it.. Its also more stealthy.. Its so easy to hide a nitrous kit.. Well thats my take on it.. I have driven a fully built 01 supercharged Mustang GT, and have drivin a 1st Gen GST Eclipse with 22psi of boost.. Yeah they are fun and all but it just dosent compare to a nitrous hit.. Going from 225 rwtq to 415 rwtq with a push of a botton..

Check all threads with "!" on them.

I lost an engine..... due to my own ignorance.... due to putting bigger injectors and not retuning the car.... completely my fault.

I run a simple 100 shot.... and do fine.

exactly which goes for any power adder really, most people that blow their motors up are due to improper tune, falty install, etc.

Anyone that makes a comment like "nitrous will blow your motor up" really has no idea what they're talking about, they heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend. Out of all your buddies that claimed how bad nitrous was how many off them actually had nitrous? think about that.

I wouldn't consider myself a mechanic by any means but I've installed 2 of these kits, the hardest part is figureing out where to route wires and lines, the actually install is easy just time consuming.

my buddy has been spraying his 3.8 litre with a 75 shot for two years now and the only problem he has had is affording nice tires.
Why hop up a V6, cuz $724 a month for insurance is a little steep.

i've gone through two differentials..and i find out today if i damaged internals or if its just a head gasket..the rears just couldnt hold up..so i got a stronger one..and the engine..well..i was spraying very large shots..much higher than i would recommend..eventually forgot to turn my MSD pump on..and BOOM!

Doh, I know what your goin through I just spun a bearing on the stang (Non nitrous related more like driver stupidiy related). Oil starvation + high revs = bad combination =\. I got a good deal on a new engine though so It's more of an investment ;) .

                  Good luck.
