open fan nozzle = what shot size?

  • open fan nozzle = what shot size?

    no..im not doing this lol..what size shot would you be at with an open fan nozzle?..no jet in it..im looking at my jet and the opening doesnt look that much smaller than the tip of the nozzle..not that i would ever run a shot that high..well..not right now anyway ;) haha ..im just curious as to what the limit is before you would be forced to run another nozzle

    Is this a serious question? I don't think anyone would know inlcluding the manufacturer.

    you could measure it and figure it out mathmatically, but the jets are also shaped for a spray pattern, If you try it get it on video :D

      HELL no im not gonna try it lol ..maybe when my warranty is almost up on my engine haha

        i have heard of many a street racer run no jet at all but most the time i think its with a wet kit, honestly with a dry kit as long as you have the fuel and the motor to take the power there would not be a problem honeslty the line from the bottle to the noid and the noid itself is the restriction i think most regular noids can only flow 175-200 shot at that point they are a bottle neck

        people spraying huge shots have bigger lines and bigger noids that flow more


        ohh yea reminds me for every 50 shot you should pull 2 deg of timing you may want to pull a few more deg of timing.

          Find the area of the opening, then multiply that by the speed of sound.
          That is your volumetric flow rate.
          The multiply that by the density of n2o, that is your mass flow rate.
          Mass flow rate can be directly converted to HP level for nitrous.
          About every lb per minute is 25 HP.

              You couldn't flow enough fuel to support it.
