My car really doesn't get along well with Walbro 255 pumps. :(
When I had my supercharger I got a walbro fuel pump and had a performance shop change the pump for me. Then on the way home my car shut off. Eventually I figured out that somehow the pump would run fine until my car came up to operating temp, and then would short out my PCM fuse and make my entire car shut off instantly. Then no matter how many fuses I had it wouldn't matter, even throwing a new one in, it would last maybe 2 or 3 blocks and then go dead again. The performance shop was clueless on what was going on, so I took it to a Kia dealership here in town, (I knew a guy that worked there), and they re-installed it, double checked it, but sure enough, same problems kept happening, over and over. I tried returning the pump figuring it was a defective pump, but when the other one came in the same things kept happening. The Kia dealership didn't know either. The only thing they did was suggest that I maybe throw in a little bit higher amp fuse until it didn't blow anymore, but that definately made me nervous, fearing that it would be hurting something. Shortly after I sold the SC and threw the stock fuel pump back in, and with the stock pump I've had no problems to this day.

Has anyone ever heard of any issues like this with the walbro pump?
Do you guys think with a 75 shot it's necissary to run a 255 lb/hr pump? My fuel pressure gauge will have to be ordered in, and will take awhile to get here, so I haven't checked my fuel press. while spraying yet. What do you guys think?

I ran with a 75shot and stock fuel pump just fine. When you get to around a 100 shot, that is where the upgrade is wise. 75 shot just leave the stocker if you had problems with walbro intank. You could also get an inline pump instead and turn it on with a switch only when spraying nitrous if you really want a new fuel pump.

That's a really good idea about an inline pump, I had never thought of that! If I ever do have to upgrade, that's probably what I'll do, thanks 97RS4life.

Don't do an inline pump...... you would still have the stock one to go through.

I run a 255 lph granatelli... aka walbro.

If installed properly there should be no problems.

Now, I went as high as a 120 dry shot with stock fuel pump and kenne bell boost a pump ( boosts voltage to stock fuel pump).

The first couple nitrous blasts will clean out the engine.... so full power won't be felt right away.

Also... no bottle psi guage and bottle warmer?? Just wait.... once you get a guage and warm up the bottle to perfect psi.... it will rocket off!

            Best of luck!
