Could someone explain what nitrous backfire is and if it is horrible for the engine??
Why hop up a V6, cuz $724 a month for insurance is a little steep.

Fuel pools in the intake manifold, then finally ignites and blows back out through the intake. Can damage your intake setup, MAF, etc.

Thanx, I just looked into the archives and it appears that sometimes its not a big deal other times its spendy.

correct..depending on what exactly is damaged and how big the backfire is..it can be spendy or not a big deal..they are a bigger deal on a wet kit (backfires can also happen on dry)..so you should take precautions against it..make sure you're not runnning to lean or too rich..and id also get a window switch so it doesnt accidentaly inject at too low an rpm

Depends on the extent of the backfire, type of nitrous kit, and amount the person is spraying.

I've had nasty ones to "sneezes" Most, if not all, were repaired at the track... a few on the street however needed a tow truck :(
