Could someone explain what nitrous backfire is and if it is horrible for the engine??

Why hop up a V6, cuz $724 a month for insurance is a little steep. -
Fuel pools in the intake manifold, then finally ignites and blows back out through the intake. Can damage your intake setup, MAF, etc.Matt

Depends on the extent of the backfire, type of nitrous kit, and amount the person is spraying.
I've had nasty ones to "sneezes" Most, if not all, were repaired at the track... a few on the street however needed a tow truck :(Race car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6
nitrous et & mph: 12.168 & 110.95 mph, n/a 13.746 & 96.38 mph
