  • Opinions and experience with N2O

I am considering spraying my camaro as my next mod, and I have been researching different kits on the internet. I hear the NX kit is pretty good, and the ZEX kit seems safe and convenient, but I am bit skeptical of the performance and the whole module instead of solenoids. What are some opinions about these and other kits?

DONT go with cold fusion. Thats all I have to say. There less expensive and you get much less quality. From the research I did with the two you mentioned I found NX to be a better product.
Why hop up a V6, cuz $724 a month for insurance is a little steep.

^^^^ Yeah, but didnt I see somewhere that you were spraying a 150 shot?? I have intake and exhaust, but i dont want to change anything else if I put nitrous on, except maybe the plugs. Also, if a window switch is not used, do you have to manually activate and deactivate the spray via switch, or cdan you hook it up to the TPS line?

I use a NOS 5175 kit. Easy setup, reliable kit.
              Got me to 13s.
I use a Fuel pressure safety switch, WOT switch, and a window switch.
              Its almost automated.

and now you have to rebuild your engine. hehehhe!

i have the n/x kit. i love it. i started with a 50 shot, then went to a 75 shot, then i did the intank fuel system and did the 100 shot. i have a slip for 13.33 when it was 95 degrees out. so when the heat goes aways i know my car is in the 12's!

You need a TPS module to hook into that but it can be done. I know nx comes with a WOT switch, we mounted kristen's under her gas pedal so when she floors it, it completes the circuit and activates. If You don't get the window switch you'll be spraying through out the entire rpm range which can cause backfires and puddling (if you get a wet kit). If your gonna do nitrous don't skimp out on any saftey percautions, a few extra hundred dollars beats having to rebuild/replace an entire engine.

True, but I have an A4, and I have been to the track many times, and I have never hit the rev limiter, so that shouldnt be a big issue, should it? Also, I am planning on a dry kit.

Well if you have an A4 and your gonna run a dry kit then the only protection I can think of that the window switch will do is HELP prevent nitrous backfires which can happen regardless whether you're using a wet or dry kit. Nitrous backfires can cause little to no damage then again they can also cause ALOT of damage. I recall watching a video not that long ago with a vette having a nitrous backfire and it wasn't pretty, it looked like a bomb wet off under the guys hood now what the circumstances were for him having a backfire I'm not sure of but it just goes to show you how severe it can be.

Ok, what are your mods now?

Nitrous can be a great thing... but it can kill your car quickly.

It will find a weak point quickly... if you have one.

I suggest full tune up first.... and check out the threads marked "!" first.
