• Thinking about joining the dark side...

Quick question first though, I plan on getting 4.10 gears and also nitrous, is this a good set up? yes or no? Also, all I care about is 0-60 if that matters (I know a lot of people say something about ours cars losing top end with those gears). My original idea was to get a SC with those gears but seeing how they cost like $3,000 I've decided to go with nitrous.

I'm doing a lot of research on here, but what do you guys recommend? Wet or dry shot and how big? 85?

First, you could prolly find a sc for under that especially pre owned. Dont settle for something else (by the way it could cost 1000 plus for a good n02 setup) without checking around a little more if you really want it.

As kristin how the 410 and nitrous setup works, i believe she now has the 410's and is hauling *** (she has heads/cam as well). For 0-60 4:10's are the way to go (with lsd and traction).

4.10s will be best for that bottom end no doubt..James switched to them..and Craig and others are running some sweet times on 4.10s ..id still recommend a power adder with these..and of course..i recommend juice..a good nitrous setup plus supporting mods will most likely be cheaper than a used sc with supporting mods

well i have 3.73 and nitrous express wet kit. i think that is the best kit for our cars. and one of the cheapest. but you have to know when you get nirtrous your going to need some other things to be safe and get the most power out of it. you should get a window switch(i have a msd), ngk spark plugs, always at least 93 oct gas, and your going to want a bottle heater. i don't know if you know how nitrous works. basically when your bottle is cooler you psi is down. and when you turn on the bottle heater the psi gets higher. higher psi will give you more power.

when i got my nitrous i started with a 50 shot for a month or so to let my car get use to it. and i moved up to a 75 shot. if you look to go high then a 75 shot your going to have to get your fuel system done. i myself have the walbo fuel pump system.

for the wet shots, if you have a 50 shot, that is 50 hp. if you have a 75 shot that is 75 hp. pretty cut and dry for the wet shots.

i don't like the dry shots only because i know of alot of things that have gone wrong with them. and you push more nitrous threw your engine, and don't get as much power.

        hope this helped.

yes the zex kits are computerized for the right nitrous/fuel mixture..both the wet and dry setups i believe.. these kits or NOS 5175 are really good kits to start with because it does the basic nitrous/fuel tuning for you with a dry kit..once you become a lot more familiar with nitrous..then id go with a wet kit..more power and a lot more torque..but you need to do all of the tuning by yourself..that is why i recommend dry kits for starters..which can be turned into a wet kit later on..i had to use a LOT more juice than James ..i had a totally stock engine except for injectors..but we both went 12.8 with NOS 5175

i ran a wet kit right off the back. it's the nitrous express gm kit.

just to stop you now, it's call nitrous. nos is just a name brand,(sorry it's a pet pev) i didn't need tuning till i went to the 100 shot. so that was a year and a half later. if you want alot more in depth answers email me

                    ZEX = crap.

NOS, NX and TNT are great kits.

                    Nitrous makes LOADS of torque!

Gears make loads of low end grunt.

                    I have cut 1.5's on 3:23's

I'm a bit nervous to spray on my 4:10's... I have yet to do it.

3:42's are fine.... unless you are like me and want every single ounce out of the car
