  • am i in the right direction

ok well guys i am gettin close to being able to order my N20 but during the waiting period i have researched and researched and want to make sure this is what i need, and am i in the right direction

    (plan on a 75 shot)

first my choice of kit is NX dry kit:
    http://www.lmperformance.com/3390/13.html

i plan on gettin a digital window switch from the LS1 boards they go for about 75 shipped used

also i am going to get the upgrade kit:
    http://www.lmperformance.com/4417/13.html

is that^^ kit necesarry(sp?) i know i need the heater, and switches, but is that kit worth it?

also i plan on getting the triple guage pod for my switches, will the switched that come from nx fit in these guage pillar? and also i plan on doing this myself, and i need to know ANYTHING else i MIGHT need or suggest i get? i plan on gettin a remote openor later but not now? thanks for your help

ALSO if i plan on going to 100 shot besides upgrading fuel pump do i need to upgrade injectors?

also what are the 3 main guages i need:
    a/f guage
    nx pressure guage
    fuel pressure

    etc etc

Okay... first off, NEVER will I run a dry shot. F*ck that. And Chet, that upgrade kit is retarded. Okay, a purge is going to run you 75 bucks if you go for single line single sylenoid. What of that do you really plan to use otherwise? The Fuel Switch?... Now, its always nice to have a bottle heater, but are you wanting to pay 300 bucks for a bottle heater? I run just a cover and it works just fine. (Only reason you should run a heater is if the car is going to be made for the drag strip and you need 100% performance out of your shot)

ok why wouldnt you run a dry shot as SOO MANY ppl suggest it, as opposed to a wet shot, secondly yes i need a heater, i was told it is best to have one(just what i hear), i also need a purge kit, i would really like to get a double(spray out nostrils) but dont have to, and i am up for all opinions etc etc

I have a NX wet kit and highly recommend getting the purge and bottle heater. You want your pressure to be up to get the full shot (Why wouldn't you want the full hp shot?). That only happens with a heater. Purging the system will make sure you have nitrous right at the nozzle when ready and not just air. It also allows you to empty the lines when done using it. DEFINITELY get the upgrade kit!

Phate- Dry shots are great for beginners that are just starting out. It is also lighter on the engine with less of a spike in torque from the shot.

I know that 97, ive just always been opposed to the idea of a dry system. Like I said, while having the kit would be nice, imo its not $400 nice. A purge is a MUST. But the bottle heater is optional imo. Its just meh. To each his own.

i would say nitrous psi and fuel psi would be the two most important gauges..and as you can see from my sig..im definitely not opposed to the dry shot

Just a little insight, I just got my bottle heater and pressure guage hooked within the last week. Now my dry nitrous kit hits twice as hard as it did without. And when it's really cold outside you wont even feel the nitrous kick in, without a heater. I would also agree with getting a nitrous and fuel psi guage. An a/f guage wont be that effective without a wideband sensor.

okso i could go dual guage pillar, UNLESS there is another guage i could put in there that is worth it, hint(not just trying to put up guages)

in the kit^^^ i get a nitrous pressure guage, correct? will this fit in the guage pillar? also i plan on getting a N20 pressure guage, a a/f pressure guage and a fuel pressure guage. do i not need the a/f pressure guage, and beside tranny temp what else would be a good idea?

it looks like you get a nitrous gauge in the upgrade kit..you will not get one with just the nitrous kit..those 3 gauges would be good ideas..an a/f gauge is pretty useless unless its a wide band..then it is very useful..also i saw you had a question about injectors..i personally didnt upgrade to my 30# injectors until i started running a 120 shot and higher..and you will only need to upgrade injectors on a dry kit..not on a wet kit..wet or dry i would upgrade the pump for anything over a 75 - 85 shot

ok guys after talking with the ppl i normally hang out with i think i have changed my mind to go with a wet kit, i have been researching for about 30 min on boards about wet kits, i think the only thing i dislike is tapping the TB but what the hell in the process i will be picking up a 3800 series 2 motor for 150 bucks!! also i know there is a chance of bakfire and all but i think i will be happier with wet, AND if i keep my bottle in the spare tire area, that will prevent me from street raing or using it when i dont need to so i think i have changed my mind and am leaning towards wet kit

also i will be getting a bottle warmer, is a blanket or jacket the same thing or no?
