If I dont have one of these would it be safe to keep my bottle open at all times? Or would I have to manually open and close the bottle?

i wouldn't recommend it, #1 it's not good for the solenoids holding that pressure all the time as I've been told, and secondly I know from not releasing the nitrous from my lines after using in the past that it eventually escapes completely even tho I have no noticable leaks, I even used a sniffer on all my lines it it didn't find any leaks.

The solenoids shouldn't have an issue with static pressure. If they can't, there is something wrong with them. As far as an always on system, once again if the parts arn't junk you should be able to leave it on as long as you wish.
Gas systems in general do not loose pressure unless there is a place for the gas to go. Tape the fittings that you can (if you can't use compression fittings) and don't use cheap lines. The system should be fine..

No disrespect, but that is wrong. I read that you are a chemical engineer, but I am just telling you what I know from experience. pumm31 is right. I have a friend who runs N20 on his Mustang and if left it on, the tank would still run out of air eventually and he didnt have any leaks. I wouldnt reccommend leaving the bottle open unless your using it. Just my 2 cents. ;)sigpic
