I was think abut getting a bottle, can you help my with that.

First is it safe??? For my car I have a lot of miles abut 130,000

Second what is the difference between wet or dir kit what is better.

And what kind of kit should I get??

Once I saw a car beck fire the NAS and it went out thru the air filter how that happens??

And mostly if I buy the kit do I have to do any thing other to the car?

I did alot of research on this when I first started here. Moderators feel free to correct me as needed.

Supporting mods MUST BE DONE:

1. Cat-back exhaust
2. High flow cat
3. Headers
4. Cold air intake

Now that the motor is breathing...

1. If you are new to nitrous, get a dry kit. Easy installation, not too much tuning and its cheaper.

2 NOS 5175 kit is highly regarded and recommended by most people on this site

http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...tegoryId=18809

check the very bottom of the site for this kit

3. Get a window switch. This enables the nitrous to spray within a certain rpm range. I highly recommend not getting the hollywood push button!

4. Get a Fuel Pressure Shut-off Switch (FPSS) Very important.

5. Get a bottle warmer.

6. Retard your timing.

7. Run 93 octane gas when spraying.

With all that you should be okay. Note you will probably end up spending over about $2000 when all that is done (exhaust, headers etc. included). Start with the 50 shot and move to the 75 if you feel comfortable with it. Any more than that and you will need to get a better fuel pump and few other odds and ends.

I have never heard of a back fire out the air filter. Back fire typically comes out the exhaust. So I dont know what to tell you there. As far as how many miles are on your car, there are people with more miles on their cars than yours and running N2O or superchargers with no problems. No promises, but the 3.8 series II is a very well built motor and should hold up.

Also, do a search under this forum to try and find out as much as possible from what other people have done and what worked for them.

Hope this helps you out and have fun the extra boost.

Well, if your are going to sc/tc you still need the headers and stuff anyhow. The nitrous is going to cost about $1000 by itself (not installed, parts only) and rest is on getting the car breathing but if you already have exhaust, all you need is headers and a cat which can cost up to about $600 installed by a pro mechanic. Thats parts + labaor. If you can do the headers and cat yourself even better, but it is a PITA.

This is only my opinion, but I personally would supercharge it eventhough its more expensive than nitrous. There is a kit made for the 3.8 by Powerdyne/RKsport. Brand new it is about $3500 plus installation which will cost around another $700.

I was thinking of putting on nitrous cuz I could save labor costs of installing it but the idea of always having to get a bottle filled didnt really intrigue me.

Its about $60 to fill a 15 lb bottle and that adds up, so for the cost of that I think in the long run sc is better. I can also install a sc by myself saving me the labor cost. If I couldnt install the sc, I would definately go with juice considering I can install that too, but its up to you.

If you are new to any sort of forced induction, read up on it thru a search. You might find it not that hard to do the installs yourself. There are plenty of forums and posts that can walk you thru installs of sc and n2o.

http://www.camarov6.com/ubb/ultimate...c;f=4;t=002431

Just run a search and you will find tons of stuff on intsalling n2o. Some people have instructions on their cardomain sites.

Turbocharging is a whole other tax bracket when it comes to money. There is not a specific kit made for this car right now. Force Fed Fabrications makes them, but I am not even sure they are doing them right now. They are also really expensive because they are custom built with an intercooler (not needed for sc) and forward sweeping headers(also not needed for sc).

So its up to you. I would just sc it, but I have the extra money to do it too. If your lacking funds, go with juice.

Honestly, people with turbos are getting better track times, but it is all about how much you want to spend and what it is worth to you.

This post may seem to go back and forth but its all personal preference. Me = sc, other guys = n2o people with more $$ = turbo. Nitrous is the cheapest way to gain horsepower...

REALLY?! Hmmm. Everyone I asked and talked to told me to get headers first along with exhaust. Okay.

Well, there you have it chicagosbird, save some more money there and you don have to get headers. Thanks dangerousv6.

no headers or high flow cat for me here. Headers are such a pain and leaking headaches, just don't interest me. A catback exhaust, intake and spark plugs, and then the kit is pretty much all you would need. You can get your nitrous stuff for less than 1k also. Depends on the brand and kit really.

NGK TR6 plugs

NOS 5175 is a popular dry starter nitrous kit
I personally have a NX wet kit

Both K&N and SLP are good intakes, the most popular one here would be the SLP intake

i would recommend starting off with a dry kit only because its better for beginners to nitrous..its easier because the car handles all of the tuning for you..on a wet kit you may have to play with the jetting to get the nitrous/fuel ratio right..and of course there is more chance of a backfire..personlly i would start off with a dry kit..then once you are farely familiar with running nitrous..invest in a wet conversion kit which can be bought for around $100 - $150 ..i would've switched to a wet kit myself but my tuning ability blows and despite the tons of things i did i could never get it to run right :D

there is a NOS dry kit in the for sale section right now. Barely used which could be a good pickup for you.

NGK TR6 plugs are #4177 last time I got some. Just go to your local autozone/NAPA or whatever and ask for NGK TR6 plugs. They usually have some in stock. They are like $2 a piece.
