I hear that you are supposed to get headers and a new exhaust for nitrous, but will the tubular manifolds that come on my car do the same job? I already have an exhaust, and was planning on installing headers as well, but once i read that im going to see little gains over stock, i dont think i want to do it anymore.

tubular manifolds good enough?

Your tubular manifolds are just fine. Headers on your car will not gain you anything. I have been using my stock non-tubular manifolds on my car with my nitrous. Just have catback exhaust and air intake and you will be fine.

Your stock manifolds are almost as good as the aftermarket shorty headers so i suggest sticking with them.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard

I did some research some time ago in the exhaust forum there should be a post about the size of the primaries on stock, Pacesetter, RKSport, and CIA headers.
Found Pacesetter and RKSport primaries to be the largest, although the differance for an N/A Application would be minimal, it is my belief that for Nitrous the better the flowing the exahust the faster you will be.

Re: tubular manifolds good enough?
Manifolds will work.
If you go to more advanced nitrous systems then headers are a wise choice.
You are forcing tons of air into the enigne.... why not maximize getting it out?Race car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6

Re: tubular manifolds good enough?
i'm sure there is a slight gain, but for advertising and paperwork reasons they just left it rated at 200hp because there wasn't that big of a gain to post it. Does it really matter when buying a car whether it has 200 or 205? Not really

^^^ ahh not to the consumer but its funny how other car companies do sometimes advertise that they picked up a 5 horsepower gain over the previous model... cant think of one right off my head but i know ive seen it before somewhere.... i'll look around some....disclaimer: \"warning.. this post may contain somewhat of a funny comment if read properly... take my comment out of context at your own discretion...\"

We know the newer v6's are quicker than the older ones.
It could be:
tubular manifolds
strighter shot intake
