  • Thinking of buying a nitrous kit.

    Hey everyone.

I'm thinking of buying a wet or dry nitrous system for my 01 camaro automatic. My questions is, before buying a nitrous system what mobs should I have done before considering buying an nitrous system? This current mods I have for my car 2.5 Flowmaster exhaust system, K&N fuel Injection performance kit, K&N Gold Oil Filter, Car sound Cat, NGK Iridium Spark plugs, MSD super conducted wires, 17" and 18" Corvette rims. I know an 75 shot of nitrous is the safest it for v6 stock engine, and wet system to. Can you guys help me with this one.

    Thanks

From what it looks like, you have everything needed except TR6 plugs. I would recommend a better fuel pump too. Thats just me.

I would say go with the NOS 5175 just cuz its easy to use and install. Then, if you want, you can convert to a wet system later on.

        Good luck! :)

You can try ebay, but if you want brand new Summit has them and so does Jegs.

              http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...tegoryId=18809
              (bottom of the page)

              http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

I would try the "Wanted" section here on the board first. People are almost always selling one or willing to sell one. They are about $200 cheaper too.

Do I really need header or stock manifold will do the job?

Re: Thinking of buying a nitrous kit.

97rs4life ran stock manifolds for a long time and never had any trouble. 1DV6 still has stock manifolds, though he has no cat either. ;)

I would recommend getting headers cuz it will deff compliment the power of the nitrous and will help the motor breathe much easier.

just stick with your tubular manifolds. You have great flowing manifolds on your 2001 already and won't gain to much to make headers worthwhile. I ran the crappy 95-99 log manifolds for two years on nitrous. This winter I just bought headers and they were the last bolt on I needed for a full bolt on car.

Ahh, I forgot you had an 01. Yeah, stick to the tubular manifolds.
