  • FPSS and Vacuum Line Question????

I am in the middle of installing my NOS 5175 kit. Got the bottle mounted and hose run from the rear to the engine bay.

What does the FPSS hook up to? Where does it go?

I know the nitrous pressure pressure regular goes to a TEE fitting. One part of the tee goes to the fuel pressure regulator and the other says to "existing vacuum line" (instruction manual from Holley). Is that the vacuum line that was pulled off of the fuel pressure regulator?

The instruction manual is extremely vague on this. It only shows pics of a 3.4, I have a 3.8.

FPSS attaches to the schrader valve on the fuel rail (pass side). You need to relieve the pressure first in the system then take a tire valve stem tool and remove the little needle in the test port. Then the FPSS attaches to that. Do you have the correct 90* piece that screws onto this??

The vacuum line is the one pulled off the regulator on the driver's side on the back of the intake manifold. You put the Tee inline with that and run it to the nitrous pressure regulator.

Yes, I have the 90* elbow for the FPSS.

Okay, now I see whats going on with the vacuum line.

Thanks for you help Travis!

On the FPSS, which connection is the ground and which goes to the solenoids?

either one works, no set side for each. It is just getting wired inline with the system so if there is a problem it breaks the circuit and you don't have your nitrous activating.

Well, I'm came to a screatching hault...alternator quit so that takes priority for now. I should I have the alt by Saturday if all goes well. I bought one off of SexySixer. At least thats an easy fix, 1-2 hours tops and I will go right back into finishing up the nitrous.

While I am waiting for the alt to arrive I am going to finish the wiring, bottle opener and bottle heater though.

You can still hook everything up and be ready to spray when the alt is on!

with the kits I have setup, I just used that post on the tb that sticks out with a hole in it in front of the tb cable setup. I just found a bolt to go through it and then attach the WOT to that and bend it around so it activates. I don't have any pics right now on my pc of it though.
