  • I'm stuck

OK. I want to juice my car, but I've got a few issues:

1- It's my DD. Is it even legal? (I've been told no)
2- I don't want to hurt my car. I'm making payments for another 4 years!
3- The price. I know it's the best bang for the buck, but how much does it cost for refills, how often do you need refills, etc etc?!?

I really want more power in my Camaro, and I think this is the way to go. I know I won't get what I want out of bolt-ons. I've done some research, and I know that if used properly, Nos shouldn't hurt my car, but how much does it affect the dependency of the car? Like I said, it's my DD and I plan on having it for about 5 more years (until I'm out of college).

Thanks in advanced for any info guys

    1. Mine is my DD and going on 2 1/2 years of nitrous, legal depends on your state.
    2. Depends on how much you use it and the condition your engine is in already. Nitrous finds weak points.
    3. around 40-45 bucks for me to fill a 10lb bottle. I go through a couple bottles a summer. I don't use that much of it. A couple times at the track and some on the roads.

1- I'm in FL. Where would I find out if it's legal?
2- engine is in good cond. Only around 73K miles on it.

How often do you guys hear of someone harming their engine from N2O, after they had it pro installed?

        Re: I'm stuck

Mine is my DD and I too am still making payments as well. Costs me exactly $48.46 (tax included) to get a 10lb bottle filled. I have yet to completely empty my bottle from actually spraying, I had it filled mostly while I was installing it and tuning/testing it out.

When done right, I have NEVER heard of someone harming their motor with nitrous, only when someone has cut corners or done something stupid.

Pro install doesnt make it 100% safe. You are still responsible to run the right plugs, right fuel and right size shot etc. If you have it professionally installed and blow the motor, the shop will not hold responsibility. They will say "Anything goes with nitrous" However, it will lessen the likelyhood that something was done wrong during the install that could lead to motor damage.

About the legality, just google it and find out. Honestly, it might be illegal here in Nebraska, but I could care less, I am still going to have it Granted I dont street race too much either.

I say do an extensive search in here and juice it. :D

OK. I was thinking a 75 wet shot for my 3.8. That should be a good shot, shouldn't it? And I tried googling, and didn't find anything on laws. And I know it's still not 100% safe if pro installed, but it's safer than doing it yourself. I'm the kind who'll cut corners just to get the system in there.

75 wet shot is a ton of fun!! If you think you would cut corners on the install then have it done by a pro! Remeber to do a search and get all the safety equipment too. ;)

So just hide the bottle, or what?

                      Re: I'm stuck

my car was in a fender bender earlier this year. I had the bottle mounted between the back seats. Cops saw it and didn't care, one of the younger cops was asking me what I had done to the car and everything. He then started talking about putting a sc on his new mustang he bought. lol, it was pretty funny

Or, use an electric opener. Open it when you need Nos, then close it when you're done. Then, you're bottle's closed when you get pulled over for speeding cuz you were on Nos.
