i was thinking about geting a wet shot with a fpss, fuel booster pump, exhust cutout and a bottle heater. do you think it would be safe or do i need something? let me know!

Re: 75 wet shot with 10 lb bottle?
Search first. I am not trying to be mean or an @sshole, but we do this discussion about once a month so there is pages upon pages of info relating to your question. Here is the link I usually give to people when asked which seems to have helped out a lot of them and answered a ton of questions:
http://forum.camarov6.com/showthread...hlight=mitrous
The only not mentioned in that thread is that you will need NGK TR6 spark plugs gapped at .035

Air/Fuel Ratio can be monitored with a wideband sensor and gauge (like $400).
Some people use a pyrometer gauge (kit including gauge and thermocouple can be had for around $200 to $250).
There are also some people who use their stock o2 sensor and a $50 dollar gauge to monitor their air/fuel ratio.
With a wet kit, you can use your FPSS, but that wont save you if you are not using the right jet combination.
Even with a 75 shot (considered to be the ideal shot for our motors), there is no real safe way to go with nitrous. A wet system can puddle fuel in the intake. If your fuel solenoid does not get the fuel moving (solenoid failure or other malfunction), you will damage your motor. Solenoids can stick closed (pressure forces the solenoid shut and if the nitrous pressure is too high, the nitrous solenoid cant open). They can also stick open if debris prevents the solenoid from closing.
See the link below for a good read on nitrous application.

Re: 75 wet shot with 10 lb bottle?
Running lean is usually not as much as issue with wet kits as it is with dry kits.
You dont NEED a wideband to monitor your A/F ratio. The only people that do have one have HPTuners. An A/F guage in the car is fully sufficient for monitoring it, only thing is that it is only accurate at WOT, but guess what, so are most widebands ;)
But Dole is definately right, its a good idea to monitor your A/F ratio.
If the fuel solenoid sticks closed, thats when the FPSS kicks in and shuts off the 'noids protecting the motor, not really much to worry about.
A good kit will come with filter fittings to prevent any debri from clogging a 'noid. Also the reason for using Teflon paste and not the tape on 'noid fittings.
One last thing, the last thing I worry about in my car is fuel puddling in the intake. That typically only happens if some has the wrong combo of jets (as Bob said, but it would have to be waaaaaay too big of a fuel shot) or they spray below 3000 rpm and/or not at WOT. Correct jetting (which comes in install manuals), a window switch and a WOT switch will safeguard you from puddling.
Not trying to knock your hussle Dole, just tryin to clarify for people who may not know otherwise
BTW, good find on that write-up from GM High Tech Perf. I read it awhile ago, but couldnt find it again. Sticky maybe?Last edited by Shodown; 09-22-2006, 01:44 AM.sigpic

not to knock your hustle, but your car domain page shows your fpss will not protect your motor if your fuel solenoid sticks.
it would seem to me, that if you really wanted to use the fpss to protect the motor from a stuck fuel solenoid, you would have to put the fpss between the fuel solenoid and the nozzle :spank:

Re: 75 wet shot with 10 lb bottle?
Thanks Travis, I'm glad someone else understands wet kits :D
I guess I am really confused as to you have some much worry about a 'noid stcking closed? Its the same risk as a nitrous pressure regulator sticking closed on a dry kit or blowing out the diaphragm of the fuel press regulator (happaned to me twice ;) )on a dry kit which would also cause extremely lean conditions and engine damage. See what I'm getting at?
I wasnt trying to belittle your information Dole, I just wanted to make sure that information is clear as possible for people who are new to nitrous. We can go back and forth til we are blue in the face about wet kits vs dry kits, because they both have their own pros and cons. I just want people to understand that some things can be avoided on wet kits, just as they can be on dry kits. Mmmk?Last edited by Shodown; 09-23-2006, 04:54 PM.sigpic

Re: 75 wet shot with 10 lb bottle?
Back on topic to the original poster, we6 racer, with the things you mentioned in your first post of this thread, all you I suggest you need is (assuming you dont have them already):
-intake system (better airflow = more power)
-TR6 plugs gapped at .035
-WOT switch (if your kit doesnt come with one, let me know, I have an extra I'll sell ya for $4 shipped)
-Window switch
Other than that you should be good to go! :burn:
Not necessarily needed, but just recommendations:
-fuel press guage
-A/F ratio gauge
-tune
-headers (low priority)
Let us know how the install goes bro.sigpic

for the record, i have absolutely no argument that dry is better than wet (if i got into it, i would argue for wet or direct port).
and for the love of nitrous, quit knocking my damned hustle!!! :rant:Last edited by BobDoLe; 09-24-2006, 05:47 AM.
