Re: time to get back in the game

    please redo your bottle mounting.

Your bottle shouldn't be straight up and down like that. It is recommended to be laid down with the knob facing the engine bay and on a slight tilt

      looks really clean:tup:
what size shot are you running?

i switched to a .047 jet (from the 75 shot .044 jet) and i haven't used it much lately because i'm still waiting on my hptuners to get the timing nailed down.

i hear you on the traction problems:(

It actually doesnt matter. As long as the syphon tube is sucking liquid from the bottom of the bottle, its fine.

the bottle is perfectly fine mounted like that. i have the syphon tube pointing toward the rear of the car so its all good. (even says so in harris speed works mounting intructions). im on the 100 shot right now, and loving every second of it. really leaning towards getting some gtp injectors and bumping to the 125, not for sure yet though.

well some bad news guys....looking like the engine blew last night. it was a stupid mistake on my part, so deffently not blaming the nitrous here. looking like about 1000 bucks for a new motor installed. prolly gonna end up getting rid of the spray again, cant be having **** like this happen.

as far as i can tell its looking like i bounced off the rev limiter while spraying. and i really dont wanna hear any i told ya so's about the rpm switch, i knew the risk i was taking, and will have to now deal with it. anyone had a motor replaced at a shop before? does that price seem about right? that should be with a motor with less than 70k miles.

with them removing and installing the motor that sounds about right if that includes the 70k motor in its price.

Thats actually a pretty good price. I know a shop around here was charging $500 to pull it and $500 to drop it back in PLUS the cost of the motor.

you mean to tell me you didn't get all the safety features put on dam Im sorry to hear that. Your story is the main reason Why I am gonna take my time with the spray

                      safety first

i'm sorry to hear about your loss.
i could understand how you'd want to get rid of the nitrous after that.
$1k for another motor installed sounds really good - i could never find a deal like that around here.

what exactly happened when it blew? did the tach look like it was at a lower rpm? did you see metal in the oil pan afterwards?

havent acually pulled it all apart yet.....if u could hear the sound u would understand, plus its missing horiably, which tells me the piston slapped the spark plug. ill get around to it this weekend im sure....gonna take a little time to get the money for the new motor.

hopefully you just killed a plug. can you pull the plugs and do a compression test? if you pull the head off, it would be great if you took some pictures.

my dry shot seemed to be working just great, but after logging a few seconds of spray, i found loads of KR. i adjusted the nozzle direction (angled more towards iat sensor as i noticed iat wasn't dropping as much as it should) and was still getting 3-7 degrees of KR.

                            back to the drawing board...

na its deffently more then the plug....their is an extremely loud knocking sound, when i tear it apart i will get some pics. im still thinking about keeping the spray on, their will be a rpm window switch if i do though, screw going through this again.

well i got the loan today and work should start on the car either tomarrow or tuesday. found an engine with 41k miles for 700 bucks so im jumping all over that. now to decide on the nitrous again. assuming i put a window switch on it, i should then be perfectly fine right? its sure gonna be nice to have a fresh engine without 10 bottles of spray ran though it. als if i can salvage anything from the old engine i will prolly part it out so look for that in the for sale section.
