And the PCM, wiring harness, K member, front suspension, sway bars, gauge cluster, 1 piece driveshaft...

It'll turn into a bigger project than you realize. You could pick up a car with an LT1 already in it for much cheaper and keep the sixxer for a DD. LT1 cars are rediculously cheap nowadays.

But to each his own, just my .02

thats why i mentioned picking up a wrecked doner car... has everything i need..i wouldnt do it any other way.. ..finding a doner is a matter of just swapping parts...(i'd be doing it the easy way.. by dropping the entire front engine+kmember wheels and all from both cars and just swappin it in that way)

around here a sh!tty ratty looking LT1 car still gets $6000+

i have $2500 stuck in my car.. and its hella nice... i have the mechanical skills to do the swap..my free time usually equals about 1 day every 2 weeks.. so i may have to take a week off of work and do this once it warms up alittle bit..


and while i have the engine out.. would be a perfect time to do a cam swap and heads as well(more power :banana: )

and when i'm done.. i can say.. I DID THAT!!!

i did a V-6 to 350 conversion in my 81 camaro... that was a breeze...doing the 4th gen will DEFINITLY be a challenge though.. but i'm up for it...

There is a wrecked lt1 for $1350 here that has a running lt1 and trans in it. They can be had for cheap

exactly.. thats what i'm going after :)

i may even (if i can find one) pick up a wrecked SS.. hopefully its rear ended or T-boned.. where the hood is still good...

so i can use the hood and ram air off of it :banana:

no info, just know the front and pass side are damaged along with the convertable top. Engine is good though. Someone posted it on our local board saying they seen it parked for sale somewhere.

If the motor is in good shape and sounds new, has good power etc etc i dont see a problem in spraying 75 shot. Do the compression test and if it works out ok I say go for it. If something happens to the motor at least you've destroed a 200k motor instead of a newer motor. But i'm sure it'll be fine if ou take all the precautions. Bottle heater, window switch, wot switch you'll be good.

If it were me, I'd do a 75 maybe even a 100 (take that with a grain of salt). As long as it is in good mechanical order, compression is okay, leak down tests good, doesnt burn any oil, why the hell not?

I'll be sprayin a 100+ shot on my car till it dies....then swap in another motor and do it agian :D
