I don't have nitrous but have been looking/preparing to get it soon. I have a '96 3.8 and I just wanted to know how much $$$ anyone has into their nitrous system. The engine is stock internally, and do not plan on upgrading the internals, so I wouldn't run anything too risky. There is kits at summitracing.com for about $550
anyways, how much do you all have into your nitrous?

i looked at your cardomain...you have stock internals?
what kind of gains do you see?
I wouldn't use it often, just at the strip every once and awhile, and cruisin around occasionally
yea stock internals, 50 shot took about .5-.6 off and 75 did about .8-1.0 sec off. with tuning the gains are better, my gains were before headers as well and on stock tune. I have 100 shot now but no track times (track day was rained out when I was planning on going this fall).

have you had any problems w/ your engine? How often do you use it? I have 119K on my engine
I think I have around $1000 into mine with the msd window switch, extra bottle, purge kit and jets. 100 wet shot I go through a bottle about once a month.

Kit can run between 350 and 1200...depending on what you want.
actually...
harris speed works is now selling their dry kit for $254.99 + shipping
i wish i had a reason to buy it all over again.
however... most of the cost is in the nitrous fills.
i can get nitrous for $3-$5 per pound. i usually end up paying $5 per pound since the cheaper places close way too early.
another thing to consider is that the last pound or two in a 10lb bottle is usually air instead of liquid goodness. so for $56 i figure i get a minute and a half of :burn:
but then as the bottle is near empty, it needs to get really hot to reach desired pressure and you get insane pressure drop problems. i have an automatic bottle heater that's controlled by a pressure switch
when the bottle becomes hot to the touch, i let it cool down and get it refilled. i figure i end up paying for 10 pounds and maybe use 8 if i'm lucky. depending on how often you get sucked into using it, it can become an expensive ADDiCTiON.
What do people who mount it between the back seats do about a blowdown?
