  • I'm getting Nitrous...Q's

    I'm ordering Nitrous this weekend, I have a 1996 Camaro RS Y87 with a 3.8 and A4 tranny with 119,000 miles.
Within this last year (10,000miles) i've replaced...
fuel injector, water pump, power steering pump, battery, valve cover gaskets, new fuel filter, 180* thermostat, msd coilpacks, headers, flowmaster, CAI, acdelco iridium spark plugs and plug wires, tranny filter/fluid, diff. fluid.

I'm leaving the engine internals stock, but was wondering what if I should replace anything else b4 the nitrous, or if anyone had any tips/suggestions for me?

(floydsummerof68 thanks for all you help with lots of my questions, no offense at all to you by me posting this, just wanted to hear some other opinions)

    Here is the kit:

good kit, and sounds like you should be good to go for a 50-75 shot, except make sure you change your plugs to NGK TR6's before you use it.

When you want to up your shot higher than a 75, then I would suggest getting some fuel upgrades. But other than that you will be fine

AC Delco Iridium plugs aren't good enough?

You will probably be ok with those plugs as long as you keep the shot low (50) But I would check them after you've sprayed to make sure they're doing ok.

Going to TR6s is the better idea though...the colder heat range will handle the nitrous better.

And of course no offense is taken by your posting this.

Just for the sake of everyone else so they do not get confused, your dry kit wont have the fuel solenoid, rail-solenoid fuel line, and the nozzle will be a dry nozzle, not the profogger.

not sure on the laws. I was on woodward this past summer and a lady hit me. Cops looked in the car, seen the bottle and just asked what times I run with it, lol. Then the one cop started talking about his new mustang he bought and stuff he wanted to do to it.

I leave it in all the time and haven't had any problems. I leave the feed line off though. I do have a wrench in the armrest though for quick hookup, lol

You need to post more on mifbody.com lol ;)

Or you could just mount it where your spare tire is and no one would ever see it.

right now I have 7mm AC Delco wires, and AC Delco Iridium plugs...but it looks like i'll end up getting NGK TR6's

                        I'm going to run 50 shot...maybe a 75 shot once or twice...

no dyno to compare b4's and after's but I'm hoping for at least high 14's in 1/4...

I have no idea how much hp i'm going to be running

if you try the 75 shot once or twice you will end up doing it more than that. Trust me, the feeling of a 75 compared to a 50 is crazy. Nitrous is addicting and extra horsepower is only a jet away which is really tempting.

I ran low 14s on a bad tune, stock exhaust manifolds, and a 75 shot. I ran 14.9 my first time with a 50 shot.

Your car setup looks similar to mine...so I'll be happy if I get those times...on your cardomain you listed 265hp...was that dynoed?
