    Re: I'm getting Nitrous...Q's

Q: Is the NOS system better?
A: Eh, not necessarily. Dyno Tune has really products. I like my NOS kit though :D

Q: Would you have to buy those parts anyway?
A: Not if you dont want to, but they decrease the chance of running lean.

Q: Would it be harder to install?
A: It wouldnt be harder per say, but it require a few mins to do. Just one extra step, but its not hard.

Q: Is it for more hardcore racers?
A: No, just for those who have a few extra bucks to spend to run it a little safer.

If I was running a dry kit, I would have a nitrous pressure regualator. Its just one more thing to protect you from running lean.

Oh yeah, the NOS kit comes with a fuel pressure safety switch too which cuts the nitrous off if lean conditions exist. Basically the NOS kit come with 2 more safety devices to protect you from running lean.

EDIT* If you are interested in the Dyno Tune kit, I still have my nitrous pressure regulator, bypass jet, hoses and clamps that I'd sell you for $40. Then all you would need is another solenoid and an FPSS and you are all set.

    Dyno Tune kit...$270
    n2o press reg....$40
    Solenoid....$70 (from Dyno Tune)
    FPSS....$35 (from Dyno Tune)

Total....$415, but that is still better than $530 from Summit :)

Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks for the info; what else would I need to get with the NOS system. A window switch? This is a daily driver; so the safer the better!

Yeah I'd get an MSD window switch ($85), bottle heater ($130), nitrous press gauge ($50), fuel press gauge ($200).

You can get all that stuff from SUmmit. I would suggest getting a bottle mounted n2o gauge because they are way cheaper.

Before I would spary a car with that high a mileage I would do a FULL tune up.

Spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, oil change, PCV valve, air filter and so on.

Basically.... the car is old..... nitrous finds the weak link and exploites it.

Check the stickies.... and go from there.

You mentioned you are tracing an ignition glitch.... ditch those 7 mm wires and swap to NGK TR6 plugs if you plan on spraying.

          Keep us updated.
