  • Need a guess?

I just have one question, please don't flame.
Is it possible for a auto 3.4l firebird w/every bolt-on, forged internals, shift kit, 4:10s, upgraded fuel system, slicks and a 175 wet shot to get into the 12's, an then maybe even lower. I ask this because I want to make sure It is even possible before I go out and do it.

Add a good 3800 stall and yup should be close to that.

        Re: Need a guess?

        I'd its easily possible.

If you are gonna do forged internals, you may as well do a cam swap and valvetrain while you are at it.

You have any suggestions for a cam, when it comes to cams I go blank.

Search the Advanced Tech section for cam info. I dont know a whole lot about the 3.4 cam profiles available.

You wont need a shot that big to go into the 12s on a 3.4 with the proper motor and drivetrain to back it up.

Hell, I'd say less of a shot of nitrous.

For cam selection, spend some time in the advanced section and try the search button.

For getting quicker 1/4 mile times, read up in the drag racing section... lot of good stuff there

A good rule of thumb for a cam is to get one with greater exhaust duration than intake for nitrous.

So do you think a 100shot will do?

With a pretty aggressive cam, ported heads, roller rockers, 4000 stall, good tune, 100 lbs weight reduction, LCA's, PHB, rear shocks, drag radial tires.....yeah its possible.

After reading about 12secondv6's car, I seen he had a fuel pressure regulator, what is the reason for having one of these on a wet kit, I thought it was only for a dry kit?

You can adjust your fuel pressure with it and yes they are more important for dry kits with large shots. He had a dry kit for awhile then switched to a wet kit.

Back in the stone age.... there was no tuning for the V6 crowd..... so I needed more fuel. I noticed a bit more power/ tuning ability with it.

Since the invention of tuning for the v6 crowd..... it is no longer needed.

I ditched mine a while ago
