But I was talking to my buddy about it and I bought the car from him...And he told me there is one problem it burns the smallest amount of oil. So I wanted to know if its ok to run nitrous? With this kit you can run a 35 shot...Would it be safe to do it or not?
Im sure you would get away with it just fine, I just couldnt justify spending $600 on a kit that has so much more potential but a motor that i am afraid to fire it with.
If you burn the smallest amount of oil then I'd do a compression check and a leak down test.
How many miles on the motor? How well has it been maintained? Auto or manual? How much are you willing to spend? What other supporting mods do you have?
IMO, 50 shot isnt worth the money, you'll hardly notice it. 75 at the minimum, but that just me :)
89000...Its a M5....Exhuast, Ram Air, Lid, K&N Air Filter..The Motor is in very good condition. I get the oil changed just about every 2k miles. And as far as money wise...I guess if theres something cheaper I should go with that. Can you change how much of a shot you want to use?
If its burning oil that Might mean it has a gasket leak.
It might mean the oil ring is bad / worn
It also might mean you have a leaky valve (internal leak)
2k2 camaro, K&N, SLP whisper lid, Konis, AEM, HP Tuners, Angel eyes/Halos, CF SS ram air hood, 4.10s, Zexel Torsen, UMI SFCs, CrossFire, BFGs, Gatorback, Catco, Flows, and TLC! DONT feed the Trolls!

Sounds like the motor has been taken care of but as slow6 said, it may have an internal issue with the leaking oil.
If I were you, I'd plan on spending about $950 for everything you need to safely run nitrous on your car.
Nitrous kit $380
Bottle heater $100
Window switch $85 (must have for an M5)
FPSS with adapter $35
N2O press gauge with adapter $50
Fuel press gauge with adapter & pod $230
NGK TR6 spark plugs $13 (gapped at .035)
Total: $893 (no tax, no shipping)
Optional:
Pillar mounted N2O pressure gauge $170-$200
Dyno tune to adjust timing and air/fuel ratio $200-$500 (depends on your car and the tuner)
Remote bottle opener $170-$260 (depends on style and brand)
And yes you can adjust the shot size by simply swapping different size jets. Each nitrous kit instruction manual will have a table of jet:horsepower gain.

With all that stuff does that give me a better chance of not doing anything bad to the motor? Is there any way to tell if its burning oil? Would the check engine light come on?
Well, some of it will help you save the motor, the rest is for monitoring your system to make sure nothing is wrong. You'll need to know the nitrous pressure cuz you dont want to spray unless you are at 950-1100 psi. You also want to monitor your fuel press cuz you need to be at about 45 psi or else you could run lean and blow the motor. FPSS will save you from running lean too. Window switch will keep you from hitting the rev limiter and blowing the motor. Bottle heater will keep your nitrous pressure up and keep it consistant. TR6 plugs are a colder plug that are gapped closer to prevent detonation.
And no, you will not get an SES light when burning oil. If you burn enough oil then the Low Oil light will appear, but thats it.
Well that light has never come on before with me but my friend did mention that I came on for him like once. And thats what lead him to believe that it was burning oil.
Umm, no. I wouldnt assume that its burning just cuz the SES light came on. 90% of the time its either an O2 sensor problem or misfire code. The next time it come on take it to an auto parts store and have them scan it (its free usually).
You will know if you are burning oil cuz you'll pull out the dipstick and it will be low on the stick and blue smoke out the exhaust pipes.
And the only time the SES light came on for me was when It was misfiring. And when my MAF sensor went bad. Do I need to doing anything to the engine before running nitrous? Like any internal stuff?

No, but I'd take care of the misfire problem first if its still happening. Your bottom end should be able to handle up to 125 shot. After that then you would probably need forged internals.
The only thing your car needs to run nitrous safely is cat-back exhaust, intake and TR6 spark plugs.
