Anyone else who might know their stuff. A guy with a transam sold me a direct port nitrous conversion kit for 200 bucks. I'd seen them for thousands so I decidedd either way i'd come out on top. If I install it on my car are there any advantages (besides that I wont have to drill and tap my TB? Is it safer because the nitrous is more evenly distributed? Will it perform better? etc etc?

Re: 1DangerousV6 I just got directport for 200 bucks
what kind of kit did you get? Did you get the kind that you have to drill the intake or the kind that are made to go under the injectors? DP on our cars is tricky do to the intake design. Maybe a picture would help
Also 1dangv6 is not the man to seek out for advise, guy pays others to do the work and then goes and does stupid things to his car. Also had no idea how an engine works when it came to heads and airflow, there was a pretty hilarious thread awhile back about him asking about heads when he wanted to try P&P them. Then he tells people that you can drill your valve cover and spray nitrous into it. Yea he is an appearance guy and not a performance guy to talk to.
Sorry if 1dangv6 has to read this, but lets face it you are not a mechanical savvy person and one that needs to stick to appearance.

its one that goes under the injectors. And he did help me a lot when I was delving into my first nitrous adventures. I know some say directport is pointless on a stock motor, but it was cheap enough, and I like how I'm not gunna have to drill out my tb and doesnt this cut the risk of an intake blowout?Mystic Teal Metallic

Post some pics of this DP system. You keep mentioning tapping your TB, but thats not how DP works, DP taps into the intake manifold OR you use NOSzles that fit under the injectors. DP eliminates having to tap your TB.sigpic

Okay. Did you tell him that with the NOSzles he'll have to modify his fuel rail a little bit by adding spacers under the rail cuz it will be raised?

Re: 1DangerousV6 I just got directport for 200 bucks
yup we covered it all. ;)
Even found out the jets from the guy before him were all messed up. Some of the nitrous jets were in the fuel holes and vice versa. lol

Re: 1DangerousV6 I just got directport for 200 bucks
i bought the same conversion kit..i forget how much i paid for it..and in response to some BS..anything that i have paid for to have done on my car in the past i have done myself several times over with the exception of actually building/swapping my block and rear..my car was built by me..driven by me..and you can read about the results
i had posted this in another thread..i like the NOSzle kit a lot..research has actually shown that direct port systems actually give less power than others (by a very small amount) because the nitrous/fuel does not have time to atomize properly..although they are still the safest due to even distribution and lack of backfires..but the NOSzle kit solves this by using the adapter that goes on to the injector to spray the nitrous/fuel through and atomize it properly for max power like a fuel injector would
i had a NOSzle kit that Z1 racing was going to install on my engine..the issues were the angle of the injectors, the fuel rail gets raised so spacers had to be made to go around the studs under the fuel rail, and since the fuel rail gets raised the studs used to hold it down needed to be made longer..i am told this can just be fixed with some washers and longer bolts to replace the studs..if you get this kit up and running id love to see pics :)
