  • How much nitrous can the stock engine take?

Well it is a new season and I am rocking a two stage setup with the dynotune two stage window/rpm switch with gear lockout. Stock engine btw, just bolt ons

    1st stage

    Dynotune Dry kit

    2nd Stage

    NX wet kit

So how much do you guys think I can through at this engine before it lets loose?

Also I plan on finding out, lol

I say 150, two shots of 75 but you really should do a search noob. I'm sure this has been discussed several times. j/k

lol, yea this is unchartered waters I am heading into, :)

The norm is 1 stage, I only know of a couple running two stages and they have engine work done and such

My plan is to do 50/50 and get the working good and then go up from there. see what it can take, done with college now (well graduate may 6) so I can afford to do this to the engine finally, lol

Actually do a search on the user "Min"

Min successfully ran a single 150 shot for a LONG time on a stock block.

Looked him up, he had P&P heads and intakes though

I voted 175, but you are gonna run into backfire problems cuz our intakes suck. If I were you, I'd to a 75 dry shot 1st stage and a 100 wet shot second stage. Just my .02 :)

if you are going that big, go direct port. Costs more, but heads off the junky intake issue.

make me a custom intake that can accept DP and I would.

That is why you make the dry bigger than the wet shot (i.e. 100dry/75wet). Keep the amount of fuel entering lower and keep from puddling and backfiring. Also introduce the wet shot higher in the RPMs

That is the ticket! Sheetmetal with direct port FTW!

Thats what I meant to say, 100 dry down low and 75 wet up top...doh! :o lol

                        A sheetmetal intake manifold???

                        Um, no.

Yea you can make a sheetmetal intake, can I, no. I do not have the resources or intake knowledge to design one that would work. Then you get into this whole thing with runners, long, short, etc and I wouldn't have a clue how to do that.

I was thinking about DP by drilling the underside of the lower manifold and putting the nozzles underneath where the balance shaft would normally be. Then it would be completely hidden and DP. However changes jets would be a pain in the ace as you would have to remove the intakes everytime to change them, lol

Thats why I said what I said. Im not calling you dumb, but someone would have to be a really good damn fabricator and machinist to do that. :)

                              Why dry to wet?

                              Just keep it all dry.
