Nitrous questions please answer them

Okay I bought the harris speed dry kit for my 98 3.8 camaro I bought headers also so next will be a cam.

My question is what is a good cam that will maximize the most horsepower of my hsw kit please provide a link of a complete cam kit with everything needed so I can take it to a gm tech and have it installed correctly.

My nitrous kit and headers are not installed but I wanna install the nitrous first then about a month later install the headers and last will be the cam when I buy it.

My question is if I get the nitrous kit hooked up will I have to remove it before I can install cam because once the nitrous kit is on I don't wanna have to remove it. I heard you have to take out a few things in order to install a cam.

Last question is I know I will need a purge kit and I found a lot of them on ebay brand new for under 50 bucks but how do I change the color of my nitrous being purged out I would like for it to be red or look like fire coming from the hood any links would be helpful thanks

abbotts racing heads NA cam is going to be awesome for you NA and nitrous. Going to need tuning for it though so you would need HPtuners

Contact them for the cam and they sell everything needed for a cam install as well.

Nitrous kit can stay hooked up while installing a cam, might have to pull the nozzle out when the air lid is removed, but it will be just fine.

purge kit is not needed, but a nice accessory to have, only way to change color is with a purge LED kit from like ZEX or something

Don't put a purge kit on an f-body. Save it for the Honda's. It isn't needed, and it isn't wanted on an f-body.

I thought thats why kristen had problems was because she didn't purge before spraying

eric- do not listen to this guy, he is full of it. Purge is not a ricer mod by any means. It makes for instant nitrous at the solenoid so there is no bogs or delays, and makes consistent times at the track.

Kristen's problems come from wet nozzle location for the most part, at least her last mishap was.

Purge kits help to bring cold, fresh liquid nitrous oxide to the solenoid. Otherwise the first second of spraying is gaseous, warm air....not helpful.

good choice on the kit, HSW is right down the road from me and those guys know their sh!t.

go on ls1tech and find someone selling a purge kit. its definitely worth buying. and as far as lighting it up... i know there is a kit that does it, but its pretty weird. i guess you could do a custom fab and have some LEDs hooked up.
