  • I think I'm ready, you tell me.

OK, heres the setup, I am wanting to spray for the 1st time ever tomorrow.

    10LBS Zex Bottle.
ZEX Box w/ built in fuel/n20 solenoids with WOT activation from TPS signal.
75 shot jets loaded in the nozzle, nozzle tapped into TB rite after MAF.
    NGK TR6 plugs

All solenoids tested and working 100%, sprays at WOT, zex module is programmed. I am ordering the FPSS, Digital Window Switch, and filters sometime this week. Is that pretty much all I am going to need to get it under way. All fluids are changed, car is mechanically sound.

Sounds good to me, but I'd suggest a bottle warmer, n20 pressure gauge and fuel pressure gauge as well.

Yeah, well tomorrow I want to spray one time just for a test, then no more until I order the rest of the things I need. A bottle warmer will probably be after everythign else, I meant to say I have a gauge, 900- 1100 psi is the correct pressure for an effective and safe shot, correct? Also, the instructions I got with my kit FROM ZEX tell me one size for jets to have a 75HP shot, and the site says that it is different, I dont want too much going in, any suggestions? Whats the best way to figure this out?

Ooo, nevermind, my instructions were for a v8!!! Good thing I cought that! The jets I have are .40 for N2O, and .26 for fuel, that probably too much fuel for my sixxer, I need a .21 for fuel and a .40 for N2O on a v6 for a 75 shot, glad that I noticed that, guess Ill be ordering those tonight from zex.

What jet sizes is it telling you to use?

Jet sizes dont matter for engine size. 4 cyl, V6, V8 etc, doesnt matter, a 75 shot is a 75 shot.

If your really going to spray, ^I would also get a wideband and hp tuners as well just to log your runs and make sure you don't go lean or have too much KR. I think alot of people put on nitrous systems and take too many short cuts, then end up blowing up something like a head gasket or piston then blame it on the nitrous. So I would take your time and don't get too anxious to spray until you have all the safety equipment and logging hardware.

OK on the zex website, it says in the jet charts for 4 and 6 cylinders use the .40 n20 and .21 fuel for a 75hp shot. And for a V8 use a .40 n20 and a .26 fuel, if I run the .26 on my car couldn't it cause fuel puddle? I didn't think the size mattered for jets, I though all were the same, but take a look here

Re: I think I'm ready, you tell me.

K well for now, until I get my jets I set it up for dry, I took the fuel line off of the schrader valve and inserted the red cap in the line to keep trash out. I put the .30 into the N20 jet, a .32 for my kit is a 55 shot, so that .30 will probably be around a 45-50shot dry. Is this location in the pic below suitable for a dry shot?

I kno it would be bad for wet, but remember I am going to use it as dry.

Just so you know you would be better off with a lid and a stock style K&N filter than having the filter put right on the TB.

lol yeah I know, I actually had some of the tube that bends and went around into a chrome pipe which went towards where the fans are, it eventually broke when I was installing the nitrous, so I havent replaced it yet, I am going to try and find someones used air lid on here if I can. But yeah, I kno thats not cold air or anything, lol

Alright, I just wanted to make sure. There have been a few guys who have thought that was the best way to do it. I think I saw one for sale on FTV6, I'll check and see for ya.

Here is the link, I'm not sure if he still has it but it's worth a try.

From what I can tell, everything looks good to go. But I wouldnt cut corners. Personally, I wouldnt spray without knowing my fuel pressure or my bottle pressure.

The placement of the nozzle is okay for a dry kit, but I definately reccomend moving it behind the MAF when you use it as a wet kit.

yeah I kno where I need to tap when I am ready to go for the wet kit(after maf b4 plate). Ive been reading up and searching so much lol. I have a fuel pressure gauge, but no isolator, any way that I can get a T fitting comming off of the schrader valve, and the fuel pressure on one end and my wet line on the other? The gauge will just be under the hood. I will have a FPSS also, ordering it all monday along with my window switch. If my bottle pressure is too low, what can happen besides loosing HP? Im sure if its to high then bad things can happen also.

Or maybe I could just place a T in one of the fuel lines, get an electric sender and gauge and do it that way. Which fuel line would be good?

I dont suggest tapping in a fuel line and putting in a T fitting, I did that and it was a nightmare to get it to stop leaking. I would just take it off of the fuel test port on the fuel rail.

Also, putting the gauge under the hood is useless. If you are spraying and start loosing fuel pressure, you wont be able to tell. Get an electric gauge with a sender and put the gauge in the car.
