Re: ZEX Tps Box (recduced engine power)

Haven't had a chance, still at work and the weather is crappy.
Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.

upped the .26 Nitrous jet to the .30, gets better and better, .26 wasnt much at all, couldnt really fell much, the .30 is around a 50 shot im guessing. Not a pin back kick, but something fun to play with, I doubt ill go any bigger until I get my wet jets.

I had my Zex wet kit hooked up with the green wire. I got good signal from it, but the voltage never got close to 5 volts. It was usually around 2.6-2.8 volts. But I guess that was normal. The purple wire got me around the same voltage too, but if I remember right, it was a negative voltage on the multimeter.
My voltages would read different from having the key on to when the car was running. I hooked up my meter to the ground and green wire, and ran it out into the car so I could see the readings while the car was running. Then I went down the road WOT about 5 times and averaged the voltages for my WOT voltage.
When the car was off with the key on I was getting voltages above that. Somewhere around 3.4 volts.
So when I programmed the NMU for WOT, I left my multimeter hooked up and held the throttle open till the 2.6 voltage read 2.6, and had somebody push the button for me. That actually made it work for me. It was weird. Maybe I shoulda used the purple wire, but it worked.

The colors going into the TPS on the 99+ cars is different. We have 8 wires going into the TPS. I found some info on it last year when I was hooking mine up. Supposedly it has a dual switch inside the throttle body. It gets two seperate signals from the TPS and compares them to control the throttle angle or something weird. The TPS and TAC on this electronic throttle body thing is weird but at least you got it working now. If my wet kit doesn't sell soon, I'll try hooking it up again, and maybe I'll use the purple this time.

I hooked it up 2 the wrong wire. I hooked the ZEX Smart Box to the green wire comming from the TPS, Come to find out, it was the PURPLE wire that I needed to hook it to.

i used the green wire on my 2001 to hook up my zex kit... odd....

on a side note, i really didnt like my zex kit... made the car run way way rich...

I hooked mine to the green wire too. I felt the same way though, the car felt pig rich. Actually bogged down a bit. Then again, my bottle pressure was around 600psi for my passes, so I can't really judge.
