Re: Looks like I leaning toward Nitrous now...

I'm with 97rs4life. I was looking at putting it in the spare tire arear, but then 1-you'll need a remote nitrous pressure gauge (gauge+pod, so it's fairly expensive), where as some bottles come with one on it; 2- If you ever break down, you're SOL; 3- It looks better, IMO, on the hump. Local laws may requite you to have a blowdown tube. They're like $30. If the pressure discs in the valve burst, then this will route the leaking nitrous out of the car (or atleast away from the driver/passengers). I'd go ahead and grab one even if it's not a law, cuz almost every track is going to require it.

I would love to see some pictures of your install and hearing this from you makes me respect your opinion because you have a store with the merchandise that you could buy at anytime but I am gonna keep my nitrous in my spare tire area like I have it and I may just buy a bottle opener from you thanks for the advice

You should look into an MSD dis-4 ignition Guardiannknight. Its totally worth it if you still have money to spend, especially if you run n2o. It will let you retard timing when spraying, amoung a variety of other things. Its almost worth it for the 2-step rev limiter alone ;)

So do a lot of people run the MSD Dis-4 with nitrous? I remember reading about it a couple years back. 2 step rev limiter... How does that work? I'm running the colder plugs and will be running 93 octane :) so that should help. But, I'll do some searching on the MSD Dis-4 to learn some more about it :D

              Thanks,
              Jeff

Don't mess with it, you do not need it and will not gain anything from it. HPtuners will take care of the tuning and timing aspect of your car. Our stock ignition system is good already. In fact our stock coils are usually still better than aftermarket ones. If someone has a bad coil I always recommend getting some stock replacements just because they usually last longer than others

From what I can tell quite a few people on the board have it now. Like 97rs4life said you probably wont see any gains from it. But in my opinion its worth it anyways if you have the money to spend. A 2-step rev limiter is a secondary rev limiter to make your launches more consistent... Go to http://www.force-fed-fabrications.com/ and in the video section there is a cool little video of them testing out the 2-step. Also you will see better MPG with the dis-4, I only got an extra 1 MPG but ive heard of people getting an extra 2-3 MPG.

For the price tag 1mpg does not sound that great to me. But if someone wants to throw money away just to have every part available for our cars then more power to them. Most people that have it, have it from before hptuners time. People that are buying and modding 3.8s now are no longer really buying DIS4 as the gains are not there for our cars to make it reasonable. A bigger engine could use it though

1-2 mpg can come from other mods that are much cheaper than that, plus he can improve his mpg with the hptuners that is on its way to him as well. So yea, I would not recommend it for him unless he was pushing 400-500hp. Even some of the bigger turbo guys, they are running stock ignitions as well

Did the NOS bottle heater get to you yet, that had to come direct from NOS instead of my warehouse? Let me know when that gets to ya.

Did you want me to take some pics, before I install everything? :) Of the stuff you sent or everything I'm getting :D I'm still waiting on all my gauges from summit. :( I've received everything from them except the gauges I think. I'm also still waiting on my stuff from Thunder Racing, it's suppost to be here on the first, well most of it, except maybe one thing that is on back order. Yesterday I installed new head lights to replace my faded ones, MSD coils and I went ahead and added the breather.. :D Took my car for a run, those MSD coil packs made the car run way smoother than the cheap advance auto ones I bought when my stock ones went out. Even at idle, the tach just sets there like it is glued.... Before it didn't jump around much, one would have to look at the tach really hard to see it move, but it would, now it just sets there....
