  • Nitrous installed. :) Pics :D

Welp, me and dad finished the install this past Saturday. All we need to install now is the sensor for the Nitrous pressure gauge, and the RPM switch(which I'm still kinda lost on, if you have any help, please add it to this post or the other one I have going) :)

As for the pics, I added them to my website, but I have hotlink protection enabled, so they will not show up here. Here is the link to the pics on my website. http://www.guardiansworlds.com/modul...php?f=15&t=118

Thanks again for all the help :D
    Jeff

Cool thanks :D I never knew a Nitrous kit had so much wiring... Oo I say 75% of the nitrous hook up was wiring... I still need to add the RPM switch and i got the adaptor today so I can hook up the nitrous sensor. Also, I have a few more questions.

      1. The kit only came with one jet. It's the 047. Is that a 85 shot or 75 shot? Also, what jet size would I need for a 50 shot and a 100 shot? Or if you or someone could just post different sizes, I might get several different sizes, matters on how much they cost...

      2. Anyone have any more info on the RPM switch hook up? I only found one post that I found someone said hook it up to the ECU pin 52. So, would I hook the first solenoid's ground to the RPM switch? Something like I did to the fuel pressure cut off switch on solenoid number 2? That's the only way I can think to hook it up to the nitrous setup?

I think that is all my questions.. I thought there was another one, but I think those are the only two.

      Thanks, :)

        .047 is a 100 shot jet.

I wired my window switch to the back of the coil pack. I dont advise doing that though. When I arm the system my tach dies, but I'm okay with that since I have an A4, you have an M5 so I dont know what to tell you there.

Looks good , that is the same place I mounted my bottle. I wired my window switch off the cam sensor on the front of the engine. I would have to double check. I checked and I did wire it off of one of the cam sensor wires. I'll check the haynes manual to see which wire it is.

O.K. it is the brown/ white wire I got my signal from on the cam sensor harness located on the front of the engine, I just spliced into it.

cool setup..nice and clean..looks pro!..i only have two bits of advice..

              1) i'd put more of a 90* angle on that fan nozzle so it's spraying more directly towards the throttle body

              2) since the bottle is mounted upright..open the tank and make sure the siphon tube is facing towards the rear..either that or remove the siphon tube and mount the bottle upside down

              dry kits rule..have fun!

It doesnt reallly matter all that much if the siphon tube is facing the front or rear of the car if the bottle is mounted vertically like it is.

The siphon goes all the way to the bottom of the bottle, thats all that matters in this case.

In any other orientation, then yes, the siphon should face the rear of the car, but not if the bottle is vertical.

I wouldnt take the bottle apart to adjust it.

you still want the syphon tube to the back of the bottle and not the front or he will end up not using all of the nitrous in the bottle each time.

With that said he is fine, the way it is turned has it so the tube is towards the back like it should be.

Looks great! Purge is facing downward? That's how mine is... You might want to think about getting a nice air lid.

Thanks everyone for the comments. :) Yeah, it took some time to set everything up nice and neat. Me and dad worked on it Thur. from 12noon to 9:30pm, then Friday from around 12noon to 10pm, then finished everything up on Saturday(worked about 2 or 3 hours on it). Just glad dad was an electrician, I learned a lot about wiring doing this install that is for sure :D

Ok, so hook the wire that it shows going tot he ECU to the cam snsor wire. Then hook up all the other wires... I think there was another wire I had a question on. So would I take the ground from the first solenoid and hook it to the RPM swithch? Just wondering what wire needs to hook up where to turn the Nitrous off and on. The directions the RPM switch came with doesn't really help much. Just gives a discription of each wire, and 3 diagrams that don't go with my setup... Oo

As for jets, I found some post on jet sizes. So from what I have read, the bypass changes the HP on what the jet size does? I don't remember reading what bypass size my kit came with(5175). No way I'm running 100 shot off the bat. :P

As for the angle on the fan nozzle, I was hoping that the way I have it set, it would flow over the IAT sensor, sense the sensor is on the other side?? Is there a reason I need it to fire straight into the throttle body?

Shril---> Yeah, I may get me one, I did the free air lid mod years ago, I'll have to check on the prices... As for the purge, I have it firing down at the ground in front of the tire. :D I'll have to take a pic of that tube location.

Thanks again for all the comments and help,

exactly..actually when i opened my bottle for the first time it was about an inch from the bottom..but with my luck i probably got a freak tank..and yeah i forgot the tube faces opposite of the label..so he should be all set

as for the IAT sensor..i took mine out when i was racing and plugged it into the tube running from the air box to the throttle body..but you should be fine..just make sure that lid is nice and tight and let her rip!
