Theres a nitrous jet calculator you can download for free, I think 97rs4life gave me the link along time ago. I'll see if I can find it. Nitrous is addicting, I'm running a .055 jet right now, will start tunning for .063 then a .071 here shortly when the weather cools down more. Mine is a wet shot though.Heres the link:http://www.robietherobot.com/NitrousJetCalculator.htm
Cool thanks. :D I'll have to check it out when I get home. :) Really need to order me some smaller jets tonight, so I might have a chance of getting them in by Friday.
Well, I just ordered two flare jets from summit racing... That is what the system uses I hope... I ordered the .033 and .041 which should be 49.18hp and 75.92hp by the link ssms5411 gave me. Plus getting the bottle filled tomorrow, only place close around here(plus very close to where I work) fills them, said they charge $5 a pound. So, that's not to bad. :D
Might be able to do some tuning on a 50 shot of Nitrous this weekend.. :P
Good to here, those jets look right, but you know their flywheel #'s. I always calculate my jets to RWHP #'s which the jet #'s go up are slighty alittle higher. But if your just starting out, I would play around with the smaller jets you have. I give you 6 months before your posting about putting in a .063 jet.LOL

Yeah... :D You're probably right... I'm really hoping to get my first small shot run this weekend... :P First though I need to get my tuning running right. The last time I went to the drag strip I ran a 16.8 and a 16.5... Oo My best I have ever ran was a 15.2. I did some scans with HP tuners and found I was having from 6 to 8 KR during the run... Plus my clutch was not disengaging quick, so it was taking close to a second to go from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd.... :( But, me and dad fixed that problem this past weekend by bleeding the cluth. It needed it bad... The fluid was all black and nasty... and was hardly coming out of the bleeder the first several times we bled it... It finally started shotting out of the bleeder screw when we finished... It must of had air and well the fluid was black... So, Saturday I'm installing steel break lines so we are going to bleed the clutch a few more times. :P
Also, I do have a Geforce transmission, and it is built for like either 500 or 600HP, can not remember... But the first 3 gears are really tight, the thing whines like crazy... Sounds like an old super charger... :P You should here my car, with the first 3 gears whinning and the 3.73's in the back whinning.. it really sounds sweet to me... :P But, I'm guessing where the transmission is build with bigger gears, makes it harder to shift, before, I knew it shouldn't be as hard as it was, because I was having to double clutch to get into 5th.. Oo Didn't have to do that after bleeding the clutch..
Well, hopefully this weekend I will get my first Nitrous shot... :D
Welll... Got my first run on nitrous yesterday... :P But, here is what happened... Well, after checking for leaks which I had several, and still have a tiny one up front which I have no clue how to fix... I need to find some kind of sealant I guess. It's not a big leak, i can barely hear it, and I poored water over it there area, and can not find a bubble at all....
So, after all the leaks where fixed, I was ready to try the 50 shot. Ohh yeah, plus I installed my new plus. Then I set my RPM switch to 3500 on 5200 off and set the mode on 6. Went out and tried it... Nothing.. :( I was like surely I should of felt something kick in.. So went back home and me and dad started looking over stuff. unhooked the nitrous line up front and turned the car off and on who knows how many times, thinking that maybe I had the Mode set wrong on the RPM switch. Nothing still.. I was like what in the world... So then we decided to bybass the Fuel Pressure saftey switches ground. set the rpm swith low to 2000 and reved and there it sprayed.... Oo
So we checke all the wiring, and everything was good. Even when I turn my car on you can feel the FPS switch kick on. But, dad was saying something inside was not making connection... So... I decided, well I will just bybass the FPS then until I can get a new one. So now the two saftey devices I'm running are WOT switch and RPM switch. And since I'm only at a 50 shot, I should be good on the FPS switch for now, plus I'm going to change the fuel filter today as well, just to be on the safe side.
A QUESTION ON THE FPS SWITCH.....
Does it matter how it is hooked up? Dad was saying it should be a simple circuit. I'm not for sure, but I think he is right though. Because it does look like it would just be a simple circuit. Just want to be sure before I go and order another FPS switch and take this one off. ????
Ok, so I did take it out for a run.. Did two runs on the 50 shot. And WOW... with only a 50 shot, it was crazy :P I can only imagine when I'm able to run a 100 shot :D Was going to do some tuning runs on the nitrous today, but don't know if I will be able to since it 90 degrees here... my laptop gets a weee bit warm on days like today, and usually locks up were it's so hot in the car... Oo
But, the nitrous worked great with all my mods I'm guessing. Because with just a 50 shot, I was shocked... Oo
for the FPSS just turn the dial on it to lower the needed fuel pressure. The FPSS is adjustable by turning the screw on it. It is probably set to high and therefore not activating the nitrous

Well heck... did not know it turned :P It never said anything about that in the directions :D Is there anyway of telling what it is set on? any numbers on it?
no real way to tell, just turn it counterclockwise I believe it is to lower it. Probably set at 47-50 when you need it around 43-45
Ohh yeah, forgot to give my Fuel Pressure numbers.
Well, at idle I get 40, and then going WOT at NA I get 50 I think. When I ran the nitrous I had my brother watch the gauge for me, I did look at it though for a teeth of a sec, and we both agreed it hit 80 at one time, he said it was around 60 to 80 when the nitrous hit, I know it was at 80 wen I looked at it. So is that about right for a 50 shot?
with the NOS kit it is going to bump it up, usually idle is around 42psi. Try adjusting the screw though and see if that works for ya
Hey, thanks for the info, got it set for around 40, and it works great :) So now I have all 3 saftey features up and running :P Did two more runs today, it was around 85 degrees or so, and I had 8 KR, on each gear, for both runs, timing advance was around 30 or 35 i think, I'll have to look again. Time to play around and remove the KR, with HP tuners.
Glad to here you got it running, I had problems with my FPSS at first and I ran without it, since I have a walbro 255 installed and a fuel pressure gauge inside the car. ( It is a good idea to have one though).

Yeah, I was kinda iffy running without it yesterday, but I wanted to try it.. Figured my luck my fuel pump would go out or my filter would clog up or something.... But, all is good now :) Just need to tune it and end all of the KR I'm getting at WOT. I've got an inline fuel pump that I'm going to install before I reach 100 shot. May install it pretty soon, just matters on how hard it's going to be to setup.
Also, for the RPM Swith, I have it set to cut on at 3500 and cut off at 5200, and I have it set on Mode 1, which is suppost to be for LS1's but it works, so I'll keep it set on that. :P But, is 3500 the best and safest time to turn the nitrous on??
