ok just got my msd switch hooked it all up gray wire isnt connected? i used pin 8 on bottom for tach signal....how do i program it? what setting ? how do i know its working it just shows zero

check out the instruction sheet, it tells you how to set the switch up using the LEDs.

You will have to go in and set the rpms for on and off and such.

3k to 5800 should be your range I would say unless you have more work done.

i undersdtand that but the setting that asks number of cylenders or waste spark of distribitur what do i put its on page one of the instructions you posted

should be two cylinder. Does it read the rpms at all with it set that way?

I have mine set on mode 1. I had to go back and read through my post, Installled nitrous pics, not the exact name of the post but close, but on page 5, I wrote I have mine set on mode 1, and right now I have mine set from 3000 rpms to 5200rpms. So, I may bump mine up to 5500 before my next drag strip run.

should read what you are idling at if set correctly

Mine is spliced off the cam sensor, set on 1 and it shoud read your RPMS at idle , unless you wired it up to where it comes on only when you arm your system.

I don't have a pic, but it is on the front of the engine up left from the crankshaft pully only one bolt holding it in place, mines a 97' so my wiring maybe different. I would just go out and by a Haynes manual. It helps alot, not just with maintance and repairing but with the electical system as well. But I think mine was the white/blk or white/brn, I know it took me 2 trys to find it since the wires were so old and dirty, but there is only three wires on the sensor. Good luck

I really don't remeber, I would have to look at mine or the instructions should tell you if it is grounded, but I think that sounds right.
