is the a way to tell if my purge kit is working

OKay my bottle is hooked up but the bottle has never been filled up so Im wondering will the purge kit still work even if there is no nitrous in the bottle like will it just blow out air or what

Push the button and listen for the 'noid to activate. You should hear it click.

why? if theres no pressure...


anyway. You should be able to test the solenoid with a screwdriver. When its on the screwdriver should stick to it (magnetism). Make sure the screwdriver doen't stick when its off, if it does, get a different screwdriver...

dont hold it too long, if you do the slinoid will fuse together

I know one thing I am ready to put some nitrous in this bottle I am so tired of people messing with me while on the street and I don't have anything to back up the looks of my car with so hp is a must for the 3.8 98 camaro

So you're going to use nitrous while you're on the street? That's a responsible move to make.

Do you have any supporting mods for that kit? What kind of a shot are you running?

different situation bud. turbo's and s/c's don't necessarily carry the intent to violate speed limits that nitrous does. If your car is a daily driver, and you have a nitrous bottle in the car while you're on the street, odds are it's because you're either a. street racing, or b. going excessively fast. People with F/I on their cars for track use can still drive on public roads because you don't have to be at WOT to see gains from F/I. It gives the car better passing ability, faster pickup, and those gains are easily justified by the needs of everyday driving. But to run nitrous in a car on the street?

Do people use Forced Induction on the street? Duh. You can't really turn it off per se. Are the irresponsible with it? Not neccessarily.

Does nitrous realistically have a respectable reason for street use? Not in the least. If it did, it would be legal in all 50 states to have the bottle in the car hooked up, anytime. :spank::spank:

I think the point is that because people constantly **** with him since his car looks faster than it is WHILE ON THE STREET, and he can't wait to put nitrous on it, leads everyone to believe he'll be street racing with it. I'm not a mod, but IIRC, this forum does not support street racing in any way, shape, or form, and any discussion or information of participation or intent to participate in said events is strictly forbidden.

From the Board Rules:

I think that post very well falls within those circumstances.

Street Racing is just plain irresponsible. You're not only putting your life at risk, but you competitor's, and the motorist's around you. :slap:

i know a few people who have just the bottle and purge. he uses it for show reasons.

pointless to me. when i'm on the road i don't even have the bottle connected, sometimes not even in the car.
