  • would you buy this if you had the money fire/ice bottle heater

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NX-Ni...spagenameZWDVW

my concern is I live in texas with the hot weather my psi iis gonna be high during the summertime like right now. I already have a blowdown tube for safety but I was just thinking what if the disc fails then boom. If this heater/cooler kit is like the way I think it is then Im gonna buy it. If Im not mistaking I think it stays on all the time plus with nitrous you can never be to safe and Im still gonna keep the blowdown tube for extra safety.

One other good thing about this kit is I wont have to worry about losing nitrous even though Im prepared if a disc burst is this the only kit out like this

Meh, its made by NX which is good stuff, but I wouldnt spend NEAR that much money on it. Even if I had almost $400 to blow...I wouldnt get it.

Trust me, you wont need the bottle to be cooler, even in the Texas heat. I live in Florida where it gets 100+ degrees and I still have to turn my bottle heater on to keep the pressure up.

    Save your money...

okay my bottle is mounted on the hatch area right above the gas tank and the fuel pump
my concern is the temperture getting to hot I have 20% tint all around but still I keep my bottle in my car 24/7 and never will take it out and I don't wanna buy a bottle blanket to cover it from the sun I was gonna buy the edelbrock bottle heater and just be done with it but my concern now is cooling.

my other point on this is I wouldn't need to buy an electric pressure guage because my psi would always be where I want it

Doesnt matter. I dont fully trust electronic nitrous accessories. I've seen many fail and cost someone a new motor.

I would still have a pressure gauge to make damn sure the pressure is right.

you are right about the pressure guage part but I don't wanna cover up the bottle its like buying halo headlights then buying black headlight covers it just takes away I still haven't decided which one to get this is the one I really wanna get http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...210750641&rd=1 and a gauge like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ODYSS...spagenameZWDVW

I'm pretty sure I know how they work. Inside the heater/cooler theres a peltier element. Peltiers are great for moving heat, when you connect it to something metal it draws heat through the element to the other side, so one side gets real hot and the other gets real cold. So when bottle temperature gets above certain temp, the device flips polarity and pumps heat the opposite way.

so when its hot, the peltier cools it, and when its cold, it warms it.

I so happen to have a 230W peltier sitting on my desk...

Dont spend the money. I'm pretty sure most burst disks are rated to 3000 PSI or so... which would take a LOT of heat to get up to that level.

I would get a bottle blanket for insulation, which will help a bit. But you shouldn't be leaving a full bottle in your car in the sun anyways, just in case. Its fine to have in when you're intending on using it, but i wouldn't leave it up there 24/7... could just be me though.
