i was foolin with the idea of putting a 50 shot on my 3.4, which runs great, but i was tellin this old geyser at work about it and he started jabbin on about how our cars aren't meant to take that kind of power because they are 2 bolt mains and not 4 bolt mains and crap like that. He said i could kiss my motor goodbye. I argued that the 3.4 was a strong motor, reliable, had an iron block and was technically a truck motor. He still said i would blow the motor.
any expert opinions here? i feel like poo poo now, he stomped on my dreams. :(
well since there is no tuning for the 3.4 really, it is going to be tough to get it to run correctly after the engine work unless you go small on the cam and such and/or get megasquirt.
Nitrous will be the best way to get some more power when you need it. Below is a great starter kit.

thanks 97, that would be the kit that i would get, and i would probably even install it myself! however, i should add that i would like to do the same top end build as funkz who as you may or may not know did not tune his engine either, since he had a 94 3.4.
i realize there are some more mild cams that are stock tune friendly. so as long as it doesn't HARM the engine, i'd be ok with it not running at 100% efficiency because of a lack of tune.
yo 97rs, it really looks like i'm going to be buying this kit, i think Kristen might help me install it.
can you tell me if there is anything else that will be a good idea to buy seperate from this kit? what hp jets come with this kit? is there anything else i should be aware of?

Hey hey, when you do this install take pics and stuff! I wanna see how it goes cause then I might be tempted to spray some myself.
it will come with 50hp jets. so you are set there. everything you need to get started is in it, the other things are safety items that you can add. Are you an auto?
