I'm pretty sure the wiring will be the same or very similar. It's really not hard man, the relay will probably come with a schematic too showing you which prong is for what; just go buy it already!

u guys think i could install this myself? i know the 3.4 very well (i've taken the top end apart 3 times) so i know where everything is. i have a basic tool set that i have accumulated, and i of course have the help of this board.

I think you could. If you know some basic wiring then you'll be set. Just follow the instructions and ask any questions on this board and you'll be fine man.

as long as u guys can put up with hearing the same questions asked in as many ways as possible, multiple times to the point of sheer annoyance, and helping me along one step at a time, i think i could prlly give it a shot. =)

when i took apart my top end for the 1st time and had never touched the engine before, i had help from this board, almost step by step and it's the only way i could have figured it out. sometimes instructions and manuals aren't filled with common sense directions. Now i can take apart and put back together the 3.4 top end in about 1 day, when it took me a couple slow months to do it the first time.

Look at the stickies above and see that there are links to install instructions for many of the popular kits. If your kit does not come with instructions, contact the manufacturer and ask for them. I have yet to run across a nitrous manufacturer who didnt have install instructions for their kits.

The best thing to do BEFORE installing your system and all the accessories is to look at your car and choose where you want to: a) mount the bottle, b) where you want to mount the solenoids and c) where you want to mount the switches. Knowing all of that will greatly help you set everything up.

Once you figure all that out, install the basic system with no accessories and once its in place and working, then install the accessories. If you have a problem and something doesn’t work then its easier to diagnose the problem by installing everything one item at a time. If everything is installed all at once and something isn’t working right, then it’s a real pain to figure out what is wrong and where its wrong.

When you order all these things and you take them out of the box, you will have a huge mess of wires, but don’t worry. Take your time, install one thing at a time and its not bad at all. The only electronics install experience I had before working my car was installing a CD player lol. But I learned along the way and it wasn’t as bad I thought it was going to be. Moral of the story, I had no idea working with electronics and I survived my install lol. The directions for all of this stuff are pretty clear and simple to read. If you have questions on stuff just ask.

Here is a link to Coldfusion's website. They have tons of install videos that are EXTREMELY helpful. They are not specific to our cars but they can give you a good idea of what to do:

you can test it without actually running it through the engine. just have to activate the switches and listen for the noids to click. no nitrous has to be in the lines

Like I said, swing by a store today and pick up one and the harness and a switch and you'll be set.

ok, i understand that... but 2 important questions.

                            1. if i get a 35 a relay and relay harness from an auto store, will the wire colors be the same as directed in the instructions you sent me in the link?
i don't want to have to guess or wire them wrong. how can i tell which wires go to which wires on the relay?

                            2. with the way this is gonna be set up, will I have to watch for the psi to reach 900 and then manually turn off the heater? or will it stay at that temp? if i don't shut off the heater, will it explode if i forget?

anyone got answers here? cuz if this plan doesn't work out then i will have to buy the auto bottle heater kit asap and sell the element.

if you buy the thermostat then it will automatically keep the temp equal, giving you around 900psi constantly. as for the relay harness, i don't know. go buy it and let us know. If it doesn't match, we can help you match it up on here

i will now buy the thermostat. then go and get the relay and relay harness. stay tuned for an update.
