Re: Rpm Signal
I used the wire coming from the ECU. Search, you'll find out which one to tap; don't worry about the wire color though, just make sure you get the right pin. IIRC, they said it's a white wire, but mine's blue, and one of my buddies had his as yellow, so just make sure you get the right pin and you'll be fine.~97 3.8L V6 Camaro~

Re: Rpm Signal
I have no problems with mine off the cam sensor wire , it is one of the end wires on the harness, I think if your looking down at the 3 wires it is the one closest to you, so the left wire if you pull it out. Mine are so old I can't tell what the colors are. Make sure you have the MSD set on 1 and you should be good to go.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Re: Rpm Signal
The problems you have taking it off from the PCM is that if it pulls to much voltage, it shuts your car off. I found that out when I had a Raptor shift light wired up with the window switch and it would shut the car off, not good.LOL08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Re: Rpm Signal
alright i have a new problem now. i was fighting with the pcm wire, tapped it, still didnt get a signal so i decided to switch to the lower voltage wire. i was getting in a hurry and forgot to disconnect the battery when i began to connect the other wire. now my car is dead to the world. i looked for some sort of blown fuse but couldn't find one. im afraid i fried my pcm what do you think???

Re: Rpm Signal
well i let it sit for a while and hooked the battery back up then it came back to life. i went to hit the starter it went dead again. so, i rechecked the fuses and relays under the hood and i didnt plug the starter relay back in right. and i found the battery wasnt getting a good connection on the neg side. long story short the car is running and now im back to ground zero on getting a tach signal to my window switch. its not a msd btw its a summit window switch.(they are actually made by granatelli)

Re: Rpm Signal
i actually dont think i tried that yet i might do that right now. as far as the pin. it is pin 54. it is a white wire and i hope im in the right bank. i pulled off the bottom one first to look at it. ther was nothing comming out of pin 54. so the next one came off and there was a white wire in pin 54. this was the top bank or the one towards the rear of the car is this right?

Re: Rpm Signal
i have solved my problem. (it was a summit racing brand digital window switch, i found out it is made by granittli) i called summit tech line about 3 times they didnt know what to do so im sending it back and getting a zex window switch. i have a zex dry kit and the zex switch is pretty straight forward as far as hooking it up. no external relays and what not.
