Lol sorry I still had the page open so I didnt see your post because I did not refresh the page...I thought it would take longer for you to reply.

Forgive me I have never done a nitrous tune so thats why I ask.

I havent looked but is the IAT in the MAF? Im sure the there is an IAT modifier for the timing and I know there was a fuel adder vs IAT for LSx based PCMss...I could use that I suppose...maybe change the IAT to one that reacts faster...I know some people have done that on the LSx based engines as well...

IAT sensor is not in the MAF. We also do not have the fuel adder vs IAT opened up either, but we do have the timing modifier vs IAT so you can adjust timing for when the nitrous hits.

IAT sensor is the little black round plug that is in the air intake.

Re: Whats the stock hortblock good for?

thanks. lol sorry I am asking obvious questions that I could just look for myself to find out because I am not home and my car and the VCM Suite is there. Just researching to pass time and also so there is less to find out later. Hope Im not bothering you lol. :P

Forgive me but the MAF actually senses the nitrous passing over it and the frequency rises?

So on these cars with the stock MAF do not come near maxing out the MAF, so when you spray the MAF frequency actually goes higher than you would ever get with a N/A setup? Im sorry its just that Ive always done N/A setups with VCM Suite :) Just trying to understand how Im going to do this...

So tune it N/A then spray and do a MAF tune again with the nitrous?

you will not max the MAF out with nitrous. Only guys maxing out MAFs out are guys running major boost using a turbo.

remember when I talk about two tunes in one you would have to use a dry shot to do it. If you go wet, you would have to upload a tune with retarded timing and then your fuel jetting would take care of adding the extra fuel needed.

Cool. I understood how the wet shot would work...just tune it for N/A then retard timing...it was the dry shot tuning I wasnt so sure about. I am glad that you can just do a MAF tune with the dry shot. That is swesome!

Well then I guess I just need to get the car together and drive it like that for a while to make sure it is running nice and the engine is broken in nicely.

I feel much better knowing I can just tune it with the MAF and IAT modifier. Man thats sweet.

Thanks a lot man I really appreciate it. :)

Oh and I have lots of experience with HPTuners so the tuning isnt a problem

Duh Im not only gonna tune the MAF. Im going to tune the VE. and we were talking about using the IAT to trick it into retarding the timing for when i spray

you obviously wanna comment so talk some smack :wavey:.

did you just say you're not going to tune the maf?

i think you should work with an N/A motor for a while...

I've been tuning N/A cars since the mid 90s man lol. This will be my first nitrous tune though.

The reason I have been asking is because I can tune the car for the nitrous no problem. I was wondering how to set it up to where the car is tuned for a large shot of n20, but still runs really good off the bottle.

Anybody should be able to tune it for nitrous only...I have no problem with that. You only have to deal with variations in bottle pressure when you dont daily drive the car. But if you do want to daily drive it, if you tune it for a big shot of nitrous, Im assuming it is going to run really rich when you are off the bottle.

Thats what I was worried about. :)
