  • CASE relearn required if no code thrown?

I installed my pcmforless tune over the weekend. The paper they sent with it say I should get a CASE relearn. According to info I have found online, the relearn is needed if a certain code comes up. While I did get an SES shortly after installing it was for an O2 sensor, not the crankshaft.

So, if I don't get the crankshaft code do I still need a relearn?

^ Yes, should be plug and play. I have tuned other peoples PCM they sent to me from the east coast and I shipped it back tuned.

I don't agree. it may run fine, but is not accurate. You should sync-up the pcm to the CS sender. My GM dealer did it for free - took 2 mins.

You should do a case relearn any time you change the PCM or remove the damper.

Some get lucky and don't have any problems, some get an intermittent miss and some just plain run bad until they do the case learn.
