Re: fuel economy tune?
A few of the mail order tuners claim improved fuel economy with their tune, as long as you keep your foot out of the throttle.
Hypertech makes a tune box oriented to improved fuel economy.
But honestly, the $300-$400 spent on tune products will go a long way toward buying gas.
PCMforless.com claims about 2-3 miles per gallon increase for their tunes.

Re: fuel economy tune?
I haven't done it but I think a MAF tune will help mileage just because the fueling is more accurate then.
But other than that I would say play with deceleration enleanment? Not sure thats the right term, but I know theres a deceleration feature in HPT.
Also I would play with your PE mode, lean things out a bit. BUT BE CAREFUL. Watch for knock.
Just a couple of ideas...

Re: fuel economy tune?
Don't mess with your Decel tables , good way to mess your cars tunning up, if you want it leaner just decrease your fuel injector tables and then scale them , reset fuel trims and see what A/F ratio you are at , make sure idling when it is warm 14.7 -15.0 and WOT 13.0 at least don't want to blow your car up running lean. Best way to get better gas mileage is your right foot though, just don't go into WOT and keep the throttle at 50 % max.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Re: fuel economy tune?
Yeah I rarely do go full throttle, this is just my daily driver that I want to get better mpg out of.www.fbodyelpaso.org A4 stock 3.42 and LSD not Y87,SLP cold air induction, whisper lid, k&n filter, flowmaster 80 series, hypertech, 160 powerstat thermostat, t/a front bumper, functional nostrils, pacesetter headers best et: 15.9 at about 4800ft

Re: fuel economy tune?
Best fuel mod is the right foot, also like 3.42's or 3.73's are good also since you don't have to put much throttle into it , to get it going, I noticed that when I went from 3.42's to 3.73's , just barely go 1/4 throttle and your up to the speed limit. Plus just getting your fuel trims and A/F and timing in order , I could see 28 -30 highway if I wanted , city maybe 23 mpg , but I'm not a economy driver in the city , my right foot is always getting mashed.LOL Thats why I see around 16-18 city and 22 highway. I have a scan gauge that I like to see what everything is running so I need to go WOT to check everything out.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake
