BCM interchangeability

Hey all, I own a '99 Firebird 3.8 auto with BCM issues. I have tried the solder trick but to no avail. Im shopping for a used BCM and was wondering if the Bird and Camaro are interchangeable. Are there any other GM models that use the same BCM circuit board as our cars? Thanks for your help.

The bird and the Camaro BCM's are interchangeable. You will need to change the VATS chip in the ign key to the value the new BCM wants. You also need to find one with similar options to your car. Some BCM's have factory key less entry and the factory alarm and some don't.

I know I put a 00' SS M6 BCM in my 96' M5 that was converted to a A4 and it work fine. All BCM's from 96'-02' are the same.
