When my tax return comes back ( soon) I'll be getting megasquirt. My only problem is deciding on which version to go with. my plans are to use this to help tune the engine when i do the 3x00 head swap for now and maybe help handle a turbo later on. If its posiable I plan on leaving the old PCM hooked up but just not to controle the fuel, spark, fans, and i think thats about it. I need it to controle the 4L60E untill i can get a good T5. Now the first thing I need to know is am i forgetting somthing for MS to controle ( both my PCM and MS will share the sensor readings) and second which version do you guys thing I would be better off with. Thanks ahead

Megasquirt is a standalone tuning program. His car isn't OBDII compliant, so HP Tuners wouldn't work.

To the OP, you should check out this thread before investing in Megasquirt.

Unfortunately I have an auto and will be holding on to it for a while:( and it seems like it would cost more to go about that route for me. Thanks for the help though. I was thinking I could get by with MS1 any one with some suggestions on the MS ver I would be better off with? And being I forgot to mention I'm running a 94 3.4L firebird ( non y87) with a 4L60E. It is my daily driver so which ever way I go it's going to have to be able to be reverted back to my stock PCM until the tuning is complete.

Supposedly there are a lot of good things to come from MS3. I haven't seen much on it personally, but have a couple friends that run 2.0 on their Datsun Z cars and can't wait for the new release.

I'd spend the extra money for MS2 if you're going to go that route.

well being I weighed the cost ( and available $$) against the benefits I decided to go with MS1. Should get it by the end of the week. Next will be the long task of tuning once I get this built. :work: :burn:
