Re: Swapping in a different year PCM into a 99 car?
There are going to be a few conflicting problems. Your friend's '99 is a drive by wire car and uses a different throttle body, intake, pedals, and of course, PCM. The '98 PCM came from a car that was drive by cable and therefore has a different throttle body with a throttle cable (instead of electronic throttle), angled intake (as opposed to the 99-02 straight intake), and different pedals. There also might be a few other little differences between the two.
IMO, you'd be better off finding a same year PCM for your friend. If you don't want to mess with an aftermarket replacement, then try searching on Craigslist, Ebay, or here.'99 Camaro
