  • another 97 pcm thread

    hey fellas, long time no see!!

    so i have found a 97 camaro, v6/5spd, and my question is this...can i use my firebird's 2000 pcm in that car if i switch the upper intake to the DBW? what else is different for the 97...me purchasing the car is dependent on this.

      right, i dont want an angled TB

      i would fix the bird, but it has a crack in the block...gotta be.

        it would be a lot of work to swap intakes, harness, pcm, pedals, etc to get the straight tb, then if you have a 93-97 car (lt1 style) you would have clearance issues with the lid so a different intake setup would be needed for that as well.

          Not to mention, all the pin outs on the PCM are different. Not worth it - it is a major re-wiring job to use a 2000 PCM in a 97.

              Comee on Flaming, no 5 speeds unless your not going to go 300 Wrhp or over.LOL If its a DD then it would be nice.

                its gonna be a daily. just something for me to roll around in style with. it looks nice, it has the SS wheels. Im not sure if i want to put anymore money into the bird. its just becoming a pain in the arse...and i have spent even more on it...i just want to be rid of it. i think im going to buy the camaro and put all the crap from the bird on it.

                  i have a 96 and a 97 pcm for 3.8 m5 cars. the 97 has a tune on it for my mods but the 96 is stock.
                  96 3.8 red camaro. <br />headers,cam,valve springs,retainers,auburn lsd,3.73 gears,SLP cold air,accel coils,24lb injectors,8mm plug wires,air temp module,LT1 diveshaft,removed a/c,edelbrock torque arm,spohn LCA\'s and PHR

                    The 96 pcm isn't tunable with hptuners.

                        Yes, its is. I have unlimited tunning for 97's , if you pay to and from I'll make what changes you need.

                          so check it...i can either buy this car or i found a place that will sell me an engine, and charge 1800 installed...engine labor and everything.
