  • Advice on tuning my car

Hey guys.... i'm sure this has been covered once before, but i can't find much on the topic. I'm looking to tune some basic stuff on my car like shift points, cooling fan on/off temps, and just some basic a/f ratio and timing stuff. I'm not really looking to mod my car much since it's just a DD. HPtuners sounds like GOD around here, but i don't really wanna pay $500 for something i'm not really gonna take full advantage of. I recently checked on Hypertech's site and found this http://www.hypertech.com/products-max-energy.aspx

it basically has everything i plan to do. I wanna get a 160* thermo and this unit lets you change the fan on/off temps and etc etc

so i guess i just wanna know if anybody has used this model or have you heard anything about Hypertech's programmers? Just remember, i'm not going to be doing heavy modding and HPtuners is really unneeded for me.

A mail order tune would probably be cheaper and benefit you more than that POS hypertech. Look at PCM4less, or texas speed. Both of them do mail orders.

no they have cores that they flash and then you send them your stocker once you get their pcm. Unless they are out of your year pcm or something

ok so i'd just tell them what i want to change. Then they upload that onto the cores they carry? Then once i receive the core they sent me i send mine to them? So am i using the new core from them and they keep my old stock one?
