I was planning on changing my thermo in my 2001 camaro when i came across a statement i'm kind of lost about. This guy said on 2001-2002 fbody's that an "18KOhm resistor must be placed in the IAT sensor to keep the PCM happy". Is this true? if so where is the spot this resistor is at so i can change it?

the resistor you put into the plug to fool the PCM into thinking it is really cold or hot all the time to change the timing.
Get a 180* thermostat and your car will be fine. Don't worry about getting a 160* thermo for it.

get this whole resistor thing out of your head, lol.
put a 180* thermo in and be done with it. The only issue the newer cars have are with 160* thermos and that is a few of them. A resistor would do nothing for this issue as the code thrown is for getting up to operating temp or something along those lines. IAT tells the pcm the temp of the incoming air in the intake tube, not your engines temp. A resistor isn't going to change anything. lol

IAT resistor isn't a bad mod. It's cheap, and keeps you in control of your timing table. I actually need to do that to the LS1, because my IAT is getting hot with no provision for it in the lid. I can tell when my IAT is over 100 degrees, because the car falls flat on it's face.
Long story short, if it's working, and in the stock location, leave it be.
