still stuck on this camaro rebuild.... today i tested the ignition control module and it failed with flying colors. I replaced it and now everytime i turn the igniton switch to on it blows the ignition fuse. any clue what could be the problem? could it be the starter is over drawing and blewing it? or the ignition switch it self? im stumped..

It sounds more like an ignition switch problem. The starter is not protected with a fuse. Have you changed any wiring or added any electrical devices lately?

you might have a ground issue, not having a good ground does cause alot of problems

i think i hooked up all the grounds as best as i could. back to the same spot there were in. but would it pop the ignition fuse as soon as i turn the key to the on position? its got to be th ignition switch? i think? ill go through all the grounds on the car and see. i could be missing one. does anyone have a diagram whre the grounds are on the car?

Recheck your grounds. Haynes manual has all the diagrams , comes in handy.

well i got the igntion switch but my informent told me it was in the serring colum. ahhh nooo but this is after i went and ripped it all apart, only to find it on top of the sterring colum by the firewall. im beating myself up. cause the ignition lock cyclinder popped out and the wires snapped. but the wires on the cyclinder were exposed? that shouldnt be correct right?

I don't think so , I had a problem wth my ign. lock and had to order a new steering column. I'm glad I did, I got a 01' SS sterring column, BCM , keys and it shipped for $87. Got it from ebay Clevland auto parts, real easy install. I think all manuals are the same and the autos are different for some years. I think thats how it was since I still used a manual steering coulmn since I did a M5 to A4 conversion. just to let you that a new column and BCM isn't too much, just about cheaper than getting a new lock and stuff. Good luck.
