    Re: Forced PE

Does anyone know if it's okay to run 17 afr at cruise. Didnt european cars have a lean cruise for fuel economy?

      Re: Forced PE

17 at cruise is high, if your on the pedal esp.,depending if its a auto you need a 14.7. Exhaust leak can cause the wideband to be thrown off too.

Usually just on cruise control is it that lean. But I get no knock and i've just recently fixed all off my leaks. If there is no kr is it really an issue??

Its probably fine since its on cruise control and you have had the scanner on it,

Here's a little chart, if you will, on AFR:

9.0:1 - Black Smoke (No Power)

                11.5:1 - Rich Best Torque @ WOT

                12.2:1 - Safe Best Power @ WOT

                13.3:1 - Lean Best Torque @ WOT

14.6:1 - Stoichiometric AFR (Chemically Correct)

                15.5:1 - Lean Cruise

                16.5:1 - Best Fuel Economy

                18.0:1 - Carbureted Lean Limit

                22.0:1 - EFI Lean Limit

                  Re: Forced PE

Im not sure I can run open loop. My idle is fairly rich (13.5) and nothing I have dont has leaned it out. Ive tried messing with my ve(which I'm not sure even kicks in until the maf fails), my injector table, idle. The only thing I havent messed with is my maf table and I have no idea what I should change. For idle I would assume a lower number from 3000-5000 hz for idle and cruise (1500rpm)

                    Re: Forced PE

change your maf table, you gotta log a cruise and see where you are on the maf numbers and your a/f ratio at those numbers, then tweak them to bring the a/f ratio closer to 14.7 at those maf numbers

Anytime you change something that effects the power of the motor you need to tune the MAF table.

                        Is it p0140?

watch the maf fz so you know where you cruise at

A little bit of an easier way to do that is to setup a maf error% histogram. The only pain is setting up the histogram correctly. I for some reason cannot find the how-to instructions on HP tuners website. Anyone know where they're at?

for some reason I caint use any Maf histograms, Not even Hz, its almost as if my car doesnt even have a MAF sensor. This is really starting to frustrate me because I used Bill@hptuners configs and I still caint use them. It says the car is not equiped with the necessary parameters. heres the link, first post http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showth...=MAF+histogram
