    magnus, since im not too sure, i'll ask. I can get my hands on a 99 pcm for ya. However, lets say you can program these, can you flash that one to be a 2000 pcm with the performance mods? im not sure, i mean from what id imagine, it would work, because if all it is, is rom's and then memory that you can flash, id imagine you could program a 99 to work with a 2000. Although i could jsut be talkin out of my rearend. So long story short, if you can do this to a 99 to work on my 2000, then i'll send ya one. =) whew. FWIW- here is some pcm flashing information:
    click here :D

    looks like they kept the wires the same on 99+ and the whole pcm can be wiped out and have a different year pcm installed. not sure if it is the same for a V6. just some food for thought.

      Magnus -

      Any updates as to when you think you'll be able to start programming PCMs?

        Cale, this weekend I will be doing the following changes to my PCM:
        Correcting final drive (Speedo) for 3.73's
        Changing shift points to around 6200
        Increasing rev limiter to 6400
        Setting top speed limiter from 118 to very high.

        I will be hitting the track on sunday with these basic changes shooting for 13's..

        I will post my results as they come along, but it should be VERY soon when I can do the basic programming for 96-97 cars.

            Congrats Magnus, hope it goes well! 6400RPM, do you have your new heads installed or something? I thought the 3.8L started dropping off after 5800rpm?

            So what are the goals, 13.7NA? :D

              13.5 NA with heads/cam..

              Yea, the stock 3.8 drops off past 5600 or so.. and I still have stock heads/cam/valve springs.. but when I run open y-pipe the car really pulls well so I try to shift it as late as possible.

              13.whatever is fine with stock heads/cam for me.. maybe I can get it this sunday.

                  It's not that hard.

                  rev limiter = 6000
                  top speed = 120mph
                  gears = 3.08

                  edit

                  rev limiter = 6400
                  top speed = 140mph
                  gears = 3.73

                  click save
                  click download
                  put the pcm back

                  ;)

                    Last I checked, computers didn't speak english. It's not that easy ;)

                    Don't you think hypertech would have released something long ago if it were that easy on the 96-7 sixers?

                    Good luck keith, sounds like you have a good handle on the whole thing.

                        One thing, with the rev limiter and rpms that high, does the cam/pushrods/rockers have enough time? I mean Ive heard of guys raising there RPMs, and when they pull the cam, its all dinged up and **** cuz metal hits metal.

                        I know I dont know much about it, but does anyone else get my drift?

                          There will be valve float above 6K with our springs. With better springs this won't happen.
